I have not been a poster on this forum very long, and I can't image I am the only one to post on this. But please for the love of all that are horny, don't lock out the ability to skip the dang phone sex ads and what not on DVD's.
I don't mind watching them but don't lock me into it. Enough already!
ha ha, i think i've unintentionally memorized that one Sunrise Adams phone sex ad just because it runs at the beginning of every Kick Ass Pictures DVDs i have. i mean she looks good enough but how many times do i have to hear "Call this number if you'd like to fuck me like this!"
I'm usually too busy getting myself all prepared for jackin' to pay any attention to the ads. It takes a couple of minutes to get naked, get out the lube, put down a towel and make sure I have paper towels on hand.
I skip them when I can, but sometimes the ads are kind of hot. I have one that's like a mini cumshot compilation (mini in length, not the size of the loads).
Is this new on some new DVDs? All the older DVDs I have, there are no phone sex ads. I've encountered a few studios that offer phone sex ads as "extras" but totally avoidable, not mandatory viewing.

yeah on all Kick Ass Pictures DVDs at least there are unskippable phone sex ads before you get to the menu. it's like the Universal Studios opening screen, it's locked in there and automatically plays every time you put in the DVD.
It's really just certain studios that use these kind of cheap tactics. I actually can't stand any features that can't be skipped, including the FBI warnings, compliance statements, trailers, copyright notices or whatever. It might be mandatory for the producer to put it on the disc but it isn't mandatory for the viewer to watch. I admit my patience is limited these days but some of the earlier 21Sextury DVDs have that GUFA copyright notice in about 249 languages which goes on for about 2 minutes with this dreadful racket in the background.
I agree those ads are sometimes a great quikie. I just don't like being locked into seeing them. Sometimes you just want to get to the favorite scene. Sometimes I want to browse those ads. The first few times I had a DVD with that kind of lock out I was so pissed I couldn't get off on the feature. I figured out how to get around that though. The thing is there is enough porn out there to fill in any gap (no pun intended). There was one DVD I had that went on for 4 minutes about the company's website. I threw it away. Think of the most annoying infomercial you've seen taking over your TV so that you can't change the channel
But the question is,WHY? With all the freedom talk that pornographers recite why treat their customers like that.
I don't know, it does make me angry... Angry customers are usually what companies like to avoid.
Some of the compilations (especially those Leisure Time vids have tons of phone sex ads, and they run between the scenes). I hate the ads you can't skip past.
Also, I hate those 2257 compliance and FBI warnings you can't skip past. I know you have the records on file, and everyone is over 18, and you'll prosecute piraters. But just cut the shit and bring up the main menu.
When I am screening a pile of movies, the ones with an unskippable ad get thrown out immediately. Which means we will not buy that movie. Why should I put my customers through this crap?
I remember I bought the Maneater DVD from Vivid and there is like 10 minutes of ads that you must sit through. Needless to say, I only watched that DVD once and will not buy another DVD from Vivid because of it.
Oh... the good old days when you bought a DVD and you got to jump right to the movie and not be forced to watch their ads.
fortunately i can skip most of the ads, when i can't i just try and fast forward through them, and if all else fails i hit the tv/dvd button on the remote and watch a few minutes of nick at nite. for that matter, though, in addition to unskippable ads, there are also plenty of dvds that don't let you skip the fbi warning and date of production stuff either. ok fine, don't copy or distribute, this is made after july of whatever year, all persons over 18 file is available at blah blah. if i don't want to watch ads, i definitely don't want to watch this either.
