I read some of the extreme thread but it was long so I did not read it all. Basically if Extreme loses does that mean that all studios will have to cut back on some of the acts they currently have the performers do? Basically what's the worst that could happen form the indictments or whatever Extreme is facing? Does Ashcroft really want to ban all porn or what? Hopefully Extreme will win.

I don't think he can ban porn. I thought this was a free country? or are we not? I think he is taking this to far .

What the purpose of getting ride of porn?

Its been in are country over 20 years.

That should be a chose for American citizens not for the government.

They raise gas prices after we fight a war in the Middle East. and NOW they are getting ride of PORN !

Next he'll be taking are strip clubs away. then are freedom to drive etc. I think he needs to focus on the hungry people in the United States !!

Hungary has produced many of porn's hottest new female stars. Are you sure you want Ashcroft to target Hungarians?

I wouldn't doubt if Ashcroft would like to see ALL pornography banned, after all this is the same man who actually wanted to drape a breast-exposed statue. If Rob and Lizzy are convicted, that will only be the first victory in Ashcroft's self-rightous moral agenda and I'm sure other forms of extreme erotica, such as gangbangs, DP's and double anals will now be considered obscene and eventually banned as well.

Dems' fighting words!

We ARE an uptight country even without Asscroft. This is a country where you can't even show a woman's breast on tv when talking about breast cancer.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like an alarmist but what is to stop Ashcroft from going after double anal scenes or something else that might offend him if Black/Borden loses this case? The five Extreme titles at the heart of this debate are not technically illegal since they involve fully-consenting adults but if they are deemed obscene then naturally they will be outlawed - and thats exactly what Ashcroft wants. He's already made it well-known that stamping out obscenity is one of his top priorities as Attorney General and will continue to do so as long as he's the top prosecutor in the US. In other words, porn fans better pray that Black/Borden get acquitted...

While Ashcroft makes a handy target, and is definitely 'of the faithful,' it would be a mistake to assume that there would be no further attacks on porn if he got run over by a bus tomorrow. If you want the government to back off from its attack on porn then you'd better start making some noise where the politicians can hear you.

Another interesting aspect of this court case is how local retailers are going to react. One store in my area has already taken all their Extreme titles off the shelves. I would assume that if Extreme loses their case, nervous store owners may start banning questionable titles themselves.

Sure the government may feel certian sex acts are obscene, and inappropriate. But it seems more like a subjective issue, what I consider to be obscene others may not. So I think the problem is actually saying what is illegal and what is'nt. There is no clear cut line, so the producers do not know when they are going too far.
