Various image editors will allow you to resize the graphic, you can also put in the dimensions that you want it to be into the html code. One usually doesn't want to make a graphic bigger as it will lose quality this way.

The code below will give you your two graphics beside each other sized to a 150 by 150 square.

For resizing I use Irfanview , which can be downloaded for free from tucows .

Can anyone recommend a cheep but effective paint program , please ? My Microsoft Paint has gone on the blink and there is no way I can afford Photoshop . Also , for best results , is it better to add the name of the film and company and then save as a jpg ? Or should I save in jpg form first and then add the writing ?

To echo what was said earlier, you should ask permission to use something off of someone else's website. You should also host the image yourself once you've gotten permission from the content owner--to do otherwise is considered bandwidth theft.

I would avoid using HTML width and height tags to resize your images because it just increases loading time and bandwidth usage (the browser first downloads the full-sized image and then shrinks it when the page is drawn for the viewer).

As far as paint programs, I like Jasc Paint Shop Pro 8...not that cheap (<$100) but loads cheaper than Photoshop.
