This cropped up on another thread and should maybe have it's own so anyone who wants to offer their views on the likely implications can do so; or maybe speculate on the likely terms of the UK's exit. British studios and models will be watching anxiously.

That isn't quite right. The UK doesn't ask to leave, it tells the EU it is going to leave. The EU can't say no. Shortly the UK will have to invoke article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty which announces that it has decided to leave; it must do this in line with the referendum result. It will actually leave two years from the date that it invokes article 50. Until that time, nothing changes and British actors/actresses still have the freedom to live and work anywhre inside the EU. The two year period will enable the parties to negotiate the terms.
What happens after we leave depends on what the negotiations achieve. It may be that nothing much changes in respect of work. For example, if the UK wants to stay within the economic single market, the EU may dictate that it has to allow freedom of movement for workers. Norway, for instance, is a member of the single market, but not a member of the EU. A condition of being in the single market is to allow the free movement of EU citizens in and out of Norway.
If the UK withdraws completely from the single market, it will be more difficult for British actors to work in other EU countries. While a tourist visa may well not be necessary, a working one probably will. However there is the Schengen Agreement which Germany, France, Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg have all signed. It means that if a non-EU citizen is granted entry to, say, Holland, then he/she can move around any or all of the other Schengen countries without further immigration checks.
So the UK is definitely leaving the EU but we have a two year period before that happens. In the meantime, it's business as usual; and what happens after we leave depends on the negotiations that should start soon.
