| rod_wrathbone_rainwhite New Member La La Land 1 Posts 2/03 | Hi Folks: I'm a former journeyman porn actor from the MTV generation. Nobody special. Now I'm a hasbeen, so I write. And I thought I'd come here and do a humble survey so that I can do my job better and get a consensus opinion of what type of porn copy fans like to read, if any. So providing you have the time or inclination, please voice your honest heartfelt opinion if interested. Every fan counts. Kindly pick the letter that corresponds to your likes and dislikes and best describes you and feel free to post your response in this topic thread. A. Just review the damn videos and tell me who the hottest new up 'n coming talent are. Don't pass insider publicity off as news I can read in any business-to-business glossy trade mag. I don't wanna know who signed with who. Clue me in on what hot new XXX babe to point my voyeur libido at. C. Expose the soul of porn. If porn pros lead exciting lives, what's the scoop? I want human interest stories, not a sales pitch for every new product on the market. How do I break into the biz? What are the real porn stories? Horny storytelling with humanity, smut memoirs. Gimme that. D. I only wanna read about the here and now. The big stars, the big directors and the big shots. But I don't care what new video he/she's doing. I wanna know what they eat for lunch and what they do for fun. What music they like. What they think about the impending war. Real people stuff. E. Take me back to the past when porn was filled with pussy I could bed in real life. Today the top fantasy girls are too pretty and untouchable and the kink bar has been raised so high that there's nothing left to shock us. Classic nostalgia is where it's at. Write about the good old days. F. Who reads porn? Fans jerk off to it. Porn journalism needs more editorial opinion and not just ad line copy to plug an event, career or new trend. It's all about the bottom line. Don't pretend porn is real news. Fans wanna get off or be entertained, not read the Ball Street Journal. G. All of the above. Just have staff writers specialize. Let the real world scribes stick to news copy. But have industry insiders spill their guts in editorial columns on what the industry is like. Having a porn star or director write news is like having Dan Rather do a sex scene. Duh.
