I think everyone else in that thread had a valid argument (AND we picked nearly every nominee BEFORE AVN released their official picks). There were SO many GREAT nominees that year... Lori Alexia Joanna Angel Jasmine Byrne Courtney Cummz Brooke Haven Jenaveve Jolie Sunny Lane Tory Lane Vanessa Lane McKenzie Lee Trina Michaels Keri Sable Hillary Scott Taryn Thomas Kelly Wells ...and it seems like AVN picked the ONE starlet that made absolutely NO sense. With that list, it was literally "up for grabs." Instead a whole slew of really deserving performers went home disappointed and maybe even feeling a little cheated. I know alot of fans did. I guess when you look at it from that perspective, the McKenzie Lee choice makes a bit more sense, even if it's not necessarily fair.  As far as Vanessa Lane's look, I'll agree that her extremely toned and hard body made her sometimes appear a bit...mannish. But it wasn't the fact that she looked like the lovechild of Mick Jagger and some macabre mecha that turned me (and obviously, many others) on, it was her consistently malevolent performances that were blowing me away.
