Not even for those who actually performed in mainstream movies such as James Deen and Rocco Siffredi. A porn actress with outstanding acting skills is Sybell Kekilli who has done a dozen porn and is very famous in Germany as a mainstream actress and relatively known in the States as "Shae" from Games of Thrones , actually when she was exposed as former porn star many were surprised and shocked. But again an Oscar? There are actors out there who not only can recreate a character but can put THEIR interpretation as THE set for anyone else , for example Gene Hackman's Lex Luthor so ironic and yet so right that a serious one would be weird. Hackman does the same to ANY character he portrays think about the bad Sheriff he played in Unforgiven Julianne Moore is his female counterpart , just fantastic playing anything. Also can you imagine a Tony Stark different than that portrayed by Robert Downey Jr? You can't, it's PERFECT And I'm not even mentioning really dramatic movies where acting skills are all you need , did you see Moon? There's basically only ONE actor in there and he is very much able to sustain the whole movie single handed with very little talking, he's alone and yet he performs with faces, body language , looks and so. | LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | Posted - Aug 18 2014 : 6:11PM Well this is certainly true but for example a minor actress in Buffy the Vampire Slayer had to play a Viking wife in a dream , something out of her usual role of Anya a frightening demoness , furthermore the lines were in Swedish , some ten pages of dialogue ,she and the actor with her (who was a guest star hired for that role only) were given their script in the morning, their first shoot was the good one. Jamie Bamber who played Apollo in the new Battlestar Galactica had to play the attorney of Gaius Baltar in a trial for treason a completely different role from his usual Captain of a Viper striker Squadron , yet he was given a speech the defence final speech,it was long , some minutes , the first was the good one again , crew and actors applauded. None of them is a top actor, average at best Some Bollywood actors may play two roles in the same day for different movies , I also don't think that any soap actor is given his scripts much longer than few minutes before the shoot. There are actors that are amazing in porn , but to get any award is a completely different thing. Of course an acting award for porn actors especially aimed for their acting abilities compared to his fellow performers maybe something they should do. I truly believe that there is more than one active performer that could do mainstream TV and movies and they might even be able to win some awards but I doubt you will think so if you watch them only do porn. The acting requirement in most of todays porn is so low that a wel trained actress will not be able to show her talent. [Link] |

It doesn't matter they had some classes they had to act a role without preparation. Do I have to mention Hush? Almost no line at all,they had to play only using their bodies and faces and yet make us understand what they meant with a look, an eyebrow a frown anything they had. The whole cast did it. They were acting on weekly basis they had no time to really prepare for such play yet they all did , brilliantly I may say (that episode won an Emmy I believe) Also Evan Stone is playing roles since forever , I have to admit he is a professional I remember him playing as Batman (not sure what parody though) and he used the expressions and the moves Adam West used on TV, he certainly prepared the role. As far as I know Penny Pax had acting classes and it really shows even with few lines (she's overacting during sex lately , possibly requested by the director, she doesn't do that usually) look at her face expressions , brows and all she's very natural.
