It's set on a vaguely defined European islamd in the summer of 1914, prior to the outbreak of WW1, and is a bizarre mix of costume drama and soft-focus porn, with some espionage and a boatload of philosophical rumination thrown in for pretentious good measure. I had the murky Vestron Video VHS version of this years ago, and have been searching in vein for a DVD ever since. Any other fans of this movie out there, and if so, any leads on a disc? [Link] |
