As you can see I've been busy the past few days...catching up on the latest gay flicks and porn....I just saw the following and its really good. Here's my review.
In the Flesh is a fine melodrama that centers around a young man named Oliver. Oliver leads a double life by pretending to be straight during the day and by night is a male hustler. Played by Dane Ritter, Oliver is one of the favorites at the "Blue Boy" bar with his good looks and gymnast body.
Detective Phillip Kirsch (Ed Corbin) is a well respected cop on the force and goes undercover to investigate drug dealings going on at the bar. Phillip crosses paths with Oliver in the bar and they spend an intimate moment. As the story unfolds the truth is revealed that Phillip is actually a cop and Oliver wants nothing to do with him. But when one of Oliver's regular clients gets murdered he turns to Phillip as an alibi. Twists abound up until the end when secrets are revealed and trust is put to a test.
I really enjoyed this independent film by Ben Taylor. It's a great story about love and friendship, with some mystery thrown in. Dane Ritter and Ed Corbin are both handsome, well built, and give a couple of great performances. The picture quality is on the average, a bit grainy here and there, but it does have some nice extras. A commentary by the director, a few deleted scenes, and even a couple of the soundtracks songs that play against stills from the movie. This is definitely one to add to your collection!
