It is not as important as having a solid movie. As far as special features I am all for packing as much content as you can onto a disc as long as it isn't advertising. If you feel that something is interesting go ahead and include it, I got the movie for the movie and anything else is a bonus. If special features end up being stupid I don't really feel too disappointed. But don't bullshit me about special features either. I don't care about watching anyone apply makeup, etc. A photo gallery is not a special feature. I have an internet connection and can look at still photos anytime I feel like it. Put on things that are fun or even slightly gimmicky like easter eggs. Fold up a promo poster and include it in the box. Doesn't matter. Some shops in Toronto seem to be displaying posters or promotional material for films that were popular in the days of VHS and don't even readily exist any more. An example of an extra value or a cool memorable package is the first Big Black record. Each one came with some different and often dangerous album insert. Things like firecrackers, or a few razor blades. I don't think porn should include dangerous shit, just saying it doesn't hurt to get creative. Also send out some promo stuff to stores. A porn shop employee who is wearing a studio shirt at work would be a good and relatively cheap way to stand out in a store full of DVDs. So to summarize, if you think it is cool include it. There is lots of room on the format to add interesting things. Use your discretion about things, if the interview is boring or lame for whatever reason don't include it. Look around on the board, many people have posted about their feelings on special features and behind the scenes segments and whatnot.

No problem. I want to add that you should send out as much swag as you can. Retail customers love getting free stuff with a purchase or having other kind of silly items they can give as gag gifts. As silly as they may be XXX playing cards are a consistently good seller. Porn related stuff that can be worn in public without necessarily being obvious that it is porn wear is great too. I can't find a picture of it right now but you probably know the kind of thing I mean. You could wear a shirt with the Anabolic logo on it and only the people who knew what it was would even notice. (For instance the same thing wouldn't work with Seymore Butts). Another reason for having a clean version of the cover is they are the only ones that can be put in a window display, and they are very hard to find. We could always censor out bits with stickers but that seemed like a waste of time. About BTS: Some viewers are also geeks. They like to know about what equipment you used, what cameras what machine or software you used to edit it. It would be nice to see some technical details included. It could be in the same format as a photo gallery or even better, video; show it and quickly tell us what it is.

I notice that you are mentioning things that as a gamer and wrestling fan I am familar with. Swag is a common term amongst us gamers though I would never have thought of playing cards if you hadn't mentioned them. Are there any other cheap forms of swag that really stand out? Another thing you point out is t-shirts and other paraphanalia that can be worn in public without being "embarassing". I don't know how family any body here is with wrestling but I'm a huge Undertaker fan, also Shawn Micheals. I hate Stone Cold Steve Austen and always have. But the one wrestling T-shirt I own is an Austin shirt. Why? Instead of some guys's face on it, or a rediculous looking bull it has a skull and says F*CK FEAR on it. So never underestimate the power of good swag. Thank you for the advice though and I recognize the wisdom, now it's just a matter of figuring out the proper way to utilize it all since I am bound and determined to enter into the bizz. I just want to have made the best possible plans prior, hell that's half the reason why I'm here talking to people like you. I know that there are other people who have ideas and the more I can incorporate the better off I'll be. So honest question to everybody who is paying attention at this point. Am I the only person who ultimately ends up buying a porn for one or maybe two girls? I know I have weaknesses. Hillary Scott, Audrey Hollander, Kelly Wells, Mika Tan (if I get all of them then 30 bucks isn't too much) but generally I'll buy a porn with one of these ladies and kinda skip past everything else. So my question is do most of you watch porn all the wya through or skip to the girl you like and maybe appreciate other girls later. Like right now I have Fuck my Skull on in the background and damn, as much as I love Mika Tan it's only my prejuduce towards Asian chicks that allows her to stand out over Desire Moore.
Well, yes, the market is saturated. Viewers have a finite amount of time to watch porn, so they'll choose carefully. Find out what the customer wants. I wouldn't try to match my competitors. I would try to beat them. I'm not a porn producer. I'm a fan.

Many of these companies will fade away over time. The DVD business is shrinking. The young market gets they're porn exclusively from the net.
