Safe to say, I will be watching this.
The list of character names is intriguing, including Eric Edwards, Kristara Barrington, Jerry Butler, etc. I will be interested to see if the performers make an attempt to embody these stars in any meaningful sort of way.

Yeah, this absolutely sounds interesting!
I'm obviously curious how (if at all) they've incorporated the technological issues going on at the time as Lords straddled the line as both a star in 35mm features as well as a performer in numerous early SOV titles.

While this does sound interesting, the line, "While it's not a 40-page script like his award-winning original comedy Love, Sex & TV News (Adam & Eve), it's enough of a narrative to move the action along" worries me. I could be reading it wrong or it could be written poorly but the feel I get is that the plot only exists to go from sex scene to sex scene.

Even if really all sex this will be enough of a curiousity to checkout. The inclusion of Jeff Stryker is interesting but I doubt Kurt Lockwood will be able to pull ofJerry Butler.

Interesting--Samantha Strong is a character in this movie. I thought she came after Traci Lords and the whole big scandal.
I'll definitely keep an eye out for this movie. I have a thing for Eighties porn--it's what I "grew up" with, even though I was well into my twenties at the time. To me, Eighties hair is "Come-Fuck-Me" hair, if there is such a thing, and it will be great to see these women with Eighties hair and Eighties sexy outfits.
I am wondering how well Miss Tyler will play Miss Lords. The picture with the article gives me pause--the Traci I remember from her porn days was more of a darker honey blonde; it wasn't until after she left the industry that she got herself a bucket of peroxide and dunked her hair into it. That might be nitpicking on my part--after all performance is the key. To my mind, Traci Lords was one of the hottest performers ever--I certainly would never have guessed she was underage. And I'm not the only one saying that--check out what Christy Canyon wrote about her in her book Lights, camera, SEX!
Speaking of Christy, I'd love to see a movie about her porn career--I was thinking Eva Notty could do the porn version, or Jennifer Love Hewitt could do the mainstream version. It would be worth it for a re-enactment of this scene alone--
Hypnotic Sensations 1.jpg
I'd also like to see an Eighties Porn movie about the career of Ebony Ayes. I'm thinking Luxury Amore for the hardcore version, and Jennifer Hudson for the mainstream version.
Just my thoughts on the subject--take them as you will.

"Eighties hair is come-fuck-me hair". Yeah, for me too! I shall look out for this.
When you see Traci and Ginger Lynn together, it is impossible to tell one is any younger than the other.

I can honestly say that after seeing the trailer I have no real desire to watch the movie. It looks, from the trailer, to be nothing more than your cheap, average, not really a feature movie. If the movie is not that, they did a horrible job of cutting the preview. The white room where most of the trailer takes place looks cheap and discouraging as well.

Here's a review from ADT's Captain Jack.
I don't think he was impressed.

A great concept blown. I can't imagine Byron playing Gillis, he doesn't remotely project the same vibe. That scene may be carwreck worthy viewing.

^ Are you really not? Or are you just not interested in Traci Lords? Some of the most interesting books, movies, documentaries, etc have been made about liars.

Yes, I'm really not interested in liars. All she did was give one more excuse to add to the stigma of the adult entertainment industry. Others may try to search for those forbidden titles, now that her story has been resurrected from the dead, only to their own peril, when those titles may be used against them in a prosecution for having underage content in their possession.
Traci Lords = jail bait.
Also, their was the time when a performer, who I won't name, lied about having cancer to elicit sympathy. Both cases despicable, in my humble opinion. In both cases, they each left my "radar".

People would still be prosecuted for owning Traci Lords movies? In 2016? Thirty years ago I could see, but not now. I didn't even think most people remembered her.

I'm pretty sure they would. She was underage when the content was filmed, it doesn't matter how old she is now. It could be black and white reels from over a hundred years ago and would probably still be illegal to own if the models were under age at the time.

If someone bothered to investigate and press charges, then yes you would be charged with CP. And yes, people most definitely remember her. She's easily one of the most famous porn stars of all time.

I gave it a screening and, for what it is, it's fine.
It's a silly, tongue-in-cheek love letter to the '80s. In fact, the production values even mimic the '80s - but then again, that's Will Ryder's MO, isn't it.
I can understand the point of view that says that this is a wasted opportunity.
But it's an X-Play movie. They're always silly. Will Ryder's movies aren't intended to change your life or sweep you off into some expertly crafted mind fuck. It's something you can put on at a party for porno bingo and get away with it.
Would I like to see some high-end hardcore biopics of our favourite stars? Sure. But looking for it in an X-Play, is the wrong place.

^ The silliness isn't what concerns me. I don't think anyone is asking for nor expecting a high end feature. I'm worried about there being no narrative and just a bunch of gonzo fucking.

Most of the 'story-telling,' such as it is, is done through narration; mostly giving each performers bio. That part isn't half-bad. There is some lead-up acting in each vignette (mostly faux interviews). Given what you'd like to see, I'm afraid you aren't likely to be impressed.

I would have been okay even with a more gonzo production if any decent effort had gone into the set or costumes and the performers were generally more A-list.

Judging from the trailer, the only thing that I'd really be interested in with this release would be the thoughts and feelings of the real people who are actually being parodied.
That would be intriguing.
(I mentioned a few of them who are still around on Twitter in tweeting out the trailer just prior to the disc's release, but nobody took the bate...)
Speaking of Ms. Lords, the wife and I met her at Chiller Theatre in New Jersey this past Fall. She was friendly, still looking good, and doing photos with the fans / selling photos and posters. I didn't ask her about XXX (obviously...that would have been incredibly rude), but she seemed cool with her "Not of this Earth" release (R-rated, 1988 exploitation film with nudity), as she sold posters, etc. of it. It was cool to shake her hand, take a photo, etc.
While she certainly harmed the porn industry at the time and is one of its biggest stars-turned-"villain" (next to maybe Linda Lovelace), she was also very young when she did what she did...all but one film under the age of 18.
It's not a full excuse, but it's a mitigating factor as to her culpability... even if the worst is to be believed about her.

Well Tracy was essentially a juvenille deliquent. A truly 'bad girl.'
