I have recently ordered discs from both fivestar dvd & adult-dvd-reviews.com
and am having problems in receiving goods shipped out by them. Is there anyne
else who has had similar experience in delays and goods not arriving.

Hi There

I am from New Zealand and have used International Mail. I am been offered reshipments of these items at my expense from both these companies, but am reluctant to do so, given the loss already incurred.

I really don't think I will be placing any further orders with these two companies given this experience.

your credit card company offers protection

wait for your statement to arrive, call them up and say you never received the goods...they will give u a refund

Hi shailen, hi Susann,

I know these problems very well. I haven't received several packages from FiveStar, but I can understand why so many people on the board love them. Ken and Ethan are very friendly and helpful and are still trying to help sorting out my problems. I have ordered many times from AdultDVDnow with no problems and have also made good experiences with DVDadvantage. Only the extremely high international shipping costs prevent me from using DVDadvantage more often. The shipments of these two companies have always been reliable. I have asked Ken and Ethan from FiveStar DVD several times if it was possible for them to send the DVDs like the other companies do - without the boxes in an envelope with no value declaration and without the company name on it, but rather exchanged with the name of a single person.

They agreed to send the DVDs in slipcases without the boxes but told me it wasn't possible to remove the company name or the value declaration which is obviously a big barrier for me when it comes to receiving the orders.
A while ago they also said they'd introduce new, more international-customers-friendly shipping methods very soon, but until now I didn't notice new shipping methods.
However, since they've always been friendly and helpful I'm reluctant to give up FiveStar and hope they'll find a way to send their orders in a more reliable way. I would love to order from them more often.

I don't think that calling up the credit card company is a good solution. This will only result in the retailers not dealing with international customers anymore. Rather try emailing the retailers and tell them about your problems. Most of the time they're helpful and will try to solve the problem.

I hope you'll receive your orders.

Greetings,

Spesedy

I have also used Adultdvdnow several times and cannot fault them.
I have just placed my fifth order with them, and so far none have taken more than eight days.
The first order where I chose the tracking option, was returned to them due to it not declaring the package contents. After that I have used UPS Global Priority, and on one occasion after ordering on a Sunday, I received the goods that Thursday.

I would first like to address the Customer who published a post stating you can call the credit card company, and they will refund your money.

While this maybe true, this is a very hurtful method of resolving a problem with an online business. The credit card company typically charges a fine, and each credit card dispute hurts the credit of that business. In all, if everyone were to resolve disputes this way, there were would be no online business left!

I feel confident in stating that most online businesses would be more than happy to resolve a dispute with their customer, rather than force them to complain to their credit card company. After all, we all want our customers to return to us, and order again!

In commenting on international shipments, adult movies are a hot item. There are many reasons why international shipments are not always successful. There is the issue of theft, lost shipments, dishonest customs officers, and wrongful confiscation.

The best method of shipping to foreign countries is to choose a courier where the package is traceable. Usually, the package is insured, and you can always trace the problem should the package not reach its destination.
