Yeah, that's clear. My point was: if a seller in Germany sends goods to a private customer in another country, he is AFAIK in charge of that the seller really receives the goods. And I don't how this is handled in the US. Looks like it's different there. I think that Global priority includes insurance (meaning that if the DVDs get lost they will be shipped again to you) and the other shipping method does not. However this might be more theoretically. ;-)Sort of. I do not really have a problem to pay about 10 $ for the shipping. I mean, the USA aren't a few kilometers away. It's a long way. And as long as I am sure to actually receive the DVDs it's fine. I have to add that I say that living in Germany where it is really not easy to get adult DVDs through customs. Don't know how this is in Australia. If this problem does not exist I would also choose the 3 $ rate for sure. :-)That's for sure... the USA are the erotical cockaigne. At least regarding prices. In case of magazine subscriptions probably even more than in DVDs.
I've ordered using USPS Global Priority before and I believe that it did not include insurance. Insurance is optional and costs extra, on top of the postage charges. From what I have seen, the insurance was charged on a per item basis, not by the postal weight or shipping method. My point was that because it costs no more to ship with no cases inside the US, it hardly makes sense to charge $4.50 extra to ship with no cases internationally, yes? Labor and packaging costs are the same no matter where the item is being sent. Only the postage stamp costs a different price.

Yes, I was also wondering about Adult DVD Pacific. Since Lasers Edge and FiveStar closed, I'm down to one US retailer (Adult Video Universe) and would like a back up. I do have an account with Adult DVD Empire but haven't used them for many years. I had to return at least 7 defective disks to them (not their fault) and got sick of incurring the cost. I'm a US based purchaser so my experience will probably differ from yours but due to their pricing I've been using them as a backup to Adult DVD Empire and I've been happy with the results so far. The only issue I've had is if you order something that is "instock 2 - 3 days" sometimes it takes longer to ship. I know this is a problem with their distributor getting it to them, not DVD Pacific purposely slowing the order but if you want your purchase right away it may frustrate you.

I was ordering for some time when I noticed I was paying too much for shipping from the beginning. I'm an adult DVD buyer from England. I always use Excaliburfilms when ordering my adult DVD's. To begin with I did have problems when certain titles were out of stock, it seemed to take a long time before they had them back in stock. I've since found a way to guarantee the films are sent out the same/next working day. I buy all of my films from the "Overstock Clearance" section, this is located on the left hand column of the screen homepage. All the titles in this section are not only in stock, but they have been reduced by a few dollars. I recently bought Brianna Love - "Her Fine Sexy Self", this is an Evil Angel 3 disc set that was on sale for $17.49, I placed the order on a Monday and received the film on the Saturday. They also stamp the package with a price low enough to ensure that you don't pay import duty. I've been using excalibur for three years now and never have any problem so long as the dvd's are chosen from the Overstock Clearance section. Almost all of the major studios are in this section with prices as low as $10.48 for lots of titles from Red Light District and Platinum X. Hope this helps.

For Canadian buyers that plan to buy porn from websites that are based in the US or overseas, you need to be careful. First you need to know how that website ships internationally. You can't avoid pay taxes on the item in question, you will HAVE TO PAY taxes to the Canadian government and provincial government, depending on which province you live in. How-ever if the item is shipped through FEDEX, UPS OR PUROLATOR, you can released the item yourself by going to the CBSA and paying the taxes on the item, that way you can avoid paying for the brokerage fees these courier companies charge. If the item comes by Canada Post, you will be charged $9.95+tax, they say its an administration fee, but Canadians know its called a brokerage fee. Also along with this fee, they will do the exchange rate, and based on what the exchange rate may be, you will have to pay the taxes on the item. If the item is made in North America or Mexico, there will be no tariff on the item, but if the time is made overseas you will have to pay a tariff on the item. So Canadian members, do your research, just because a website may ship it through a courier company, doesn't mean it will received by them, in-fact once the item gets to the Canadian border, it may switch hands and be sent through Canada Post. It is the same for all retailers, porn or otherwise. They all charge more than actual postal/courier costs. Part of the cost is for shipping materials and handling, they do pay the salary of their staff to walk around the warehouse to pick up the movie you want, remove the plastic and case of the movie if you do not want the case, pack the movie into a box/envelope and send this box/envelope for shipping. The other reason is they need to make a profit from the shipping! As for AdultDVDEmpire's free domectic shipping, they are based in USA and most online retailers offer free domestic shipping, so I am not surprised.
Hmm wonder what your store is. I've used http://www.xxxdvd.co.jp/ for Japanese AV. This is an excellent store, reliable and can be trusted. They can get all the Japanese AV, even if it is not on their catalogue. Just email them. I like their shipping too, discrete package, fast and trackable.
I don't buy from Canadian stores because they are too expensive and lack variety of titles. I would recommend Adult DVD Empire and CD Universe Adult DVD stores. If you choose to use a courier (Fedex, UPS, DHL etc) for shipping, then you have no choice but to pay for brokerage fees and taxes.
Never used them. Try out the 2 stores I mentioned earlier: Adult DVD Empire and CD Universe Adult DVD stores. Both of these stores also sell mainstream movies and CD Universe sell music CDs as well. You can mix and match porn and non-porn products in one order. I have no problems getting my porn movies from Adult DVD Empire and CD Universe. I used standard shipping all the time and the DVDs were delivered by Canada Post.

COMMENTS: I've ordered around five times from this shop and I yet haven't got the bad experience, and no need for any assistance. I can't tell if the movies are cheap or not since I don't really watch other shops anymore. I guess some are cheap and some are expensive. It seems to me that their shipping costs are low-ish, but the total shipping cost will increase each time you add an item to the list. The website got some tiny annoyances, for example the movie listing shows also the ones that are not available anymore. In the other hand some may think it's better to see that the movie even existed but I would hide them.
