OR BOTH?
I am going to hate myself in the morning, but I got to know- does anyone ever use the links? Are they viewed as self serving "features" that lead the sheep to a consumer site, or are they viewed as a great way to access all kinds of adult info (or other kinds) while viewing the product.
With web TV, and the new Game systems, it seems that hyperlinks will become standard.
Some companies are considering, or already have sold advertising space on their DVD's with Hyperlinks. Pixis just put one out with a link to adameve.com (I had no idea,in fact no one did!)
So few know how to do it right, as well.

I think that the vast majority of DVD pornsumers are watching on their TVs, not DVD ROMs. I don't have an internet connection in my television so the links are pretty useless for me. I don't think I would use them even if I could.
On a different note: I think the concept of getting other people to pay for the DVD production costs by selling ad space is an interesting concept. (I know there have been ads on VHS tapes for years.) We've been quoted rates to 'purchase' links in the past. IMO, there are far better ways to generate traffic and brand awareness.

I never use the internet links. I doubt I would ever use them even if I had a DVD ROM on my computer.

Well. On a Mainstream movie I would consider it. But the most of the extras are usualy on the DVD itself. Which is the way it should be.
sure you can hyperlink, but make sure you keep any extras on the DVD itself.
for exampleI just got
Interview with a Vampire.
and it had an address I could goto to learn more about Vampirism. Well low and behold the website no longer exists.
fuck
they should have just put the information on right there on the DVD .
As for porn doing that.
I know you can download some movies if you bought a Vivid disc.. but thats just mean.. put the "extra" movie on the disc itself.
as far as links to stores and other titles and their own homepage..
sure go ahead. sometimes a company with have a website name that you wouldn't have expected.

Been my experience that too many adult movie company sites are just blatant come ons to join for content from the site and have too little featuring their releases so I rarely visit them.

I never use the links. It seems like there's only one link and it's to the studio who made the disc. A lot of times the studios website is listed on the back cover anyway.
