What is everyones' thoughts on Inter-racial relationships?
Tell me about your relationships? What hardships, sterotypes did you overcome?
Are there races that you had not considered dating/marriage but did?

Here are some Articles that I had come across:
Asian Male\Black Female relationships

USA Melting Pot?

TigerDragon, I've never dated someone not of my own race. But probably not because I wouldn't. I've known some women that are drop dead gorgeous who are other races. Most of the time they had boyfriends who were friends of mine though, hence taken.

I know a lot of people who have a problem with it. I think it's most healthy to not have a problem with it though. I think the heterogenity that results from everybody interacting and not being isolated or separated is better for everyone's growth, health, and so on.

There's certainly a lot of implicit taboo put on it in my home town. It's frowned upon.

Despite the stereotype that Caucasians are the ones who frown on interracial relationships, my experience has been that it's the minorities that are the worst about accepting them. It seems pretty ironic to me that groups that fight so hard for inclusion can be so exclusive...

For me, as an Asian who's family has been in the U.S. for several generations, it seems silly to me to be expected to limit my choices for life partner to people of the same ethnic background. I'm about as American as they come...

I live in the UK, and interracial dating doesn't seem such a big deal over here. I'm multi racial meself :). I think white people are the most accepting here. I went out with a Chinese girl, who didn't want her parents to know, we always had to dodge her family. South East Asians are the worst, their families are even more strict. Actually there's a girl who I like, who's white, but she doesn't want to get involved because her dad doesn't like black people (I'm half black).

I have dated the whole spectrum...
Thai
Japanese
Half white half black
Black
Hispanic
White

My family has always been rather prejudice, but I just don't understand it. It never factors in for me, I like the person for their intellect, humor, ethics and presence, I could care less about some pigment.

Besides, it's not as if we're purebread stock anyway, lol, I don't even know 1/2 my heritage, and the other half is Heinz 57.

Fortunatly the only experince I've had with prejudice from being in a n inter-racial relationship was from family and that was (for me) easy to ignore, but I know it really bothered my GF/BF that my family was incapable of seeing beyond skin tone, it was really sad.

Lou- That's in interesting predicament eh? I dated a guy that was half black and half white and my parents had the same issue, but it's like, well..who then according to your logic is it "O.K" for him to date?

duh!

My uncles are always talking about the coming race war. Interracial dating is a big no no.

Some people, I'm afraid, will never learn that humans all have the same basic needs and such. where they're from or what religion or what skin color doesn't change basic human conditions.

I don't see races. Why is that? I don't see black. Why is that?

Must be focusing too much in the inside, which is why I find everybody the same.

I believe you Sonic, but was wondering why you love that series
"Little White Chicks - Big Black Monster Dicks" so much? I may
have gotten the name wrong, but you know what I mean.

Because the dicks are big and it seems to penetrate the chicks good. I'm sure many males dig the idea of a huge cock trying to fit in a small vagina..and it's worth the ticket for watching the expression on the porn star's face. LOL!

Plus the chicks are beautiiiiiiful! Jake Steed got good taste when selecting his chicks.

Interracial..... no. But then again, I never went to school with anyone not of the white race, so exposure to other races was limited.
Now I believe is it not the color of the skin inasmuch the culture. Other races seem to have their own beliefs and traditions that more or less clash with others. This poses more problems than mixed colors.
I do believe we are born equal but as we grow we grow differently according to our environment. Some races demand their share and some work for it.

i've only dated 'outside my race' when i was in berkeley. funny thing about berkeley is white = bad, european white male = really bad. sometimes i think tan people pretended to be a race they weren't, just so they weren't branded white (and boring.) it was nice to live in a place where whites weren't the majority.

oh yeah - i also dated a guy growing up who was chinese. no hardships. no one really cares who ya date until you get into the marriage range. i'm sure my family would prefer i was marrying a nice, jewish boy, but they've learned to settle for the nice half (heck they're just happy that i'm getting married :)

TigerDragon: Before I met my wife, my past relationships in high school and college were with women not of my race. Sure, there are those who may actively try to meet people of different ethnicities to "experiment" or out of foreign curiousity, but I can honestly say that it boils down to you meet who you meet, and you like who you like irrespective of skin color or phenotype.

The real hardships, in my view, came from my concern over how my (ex-)girlfriends would endure the looks or comments from being one-half of an interracial couple. Since I grew up in the States as a minority, a racial slur here and there or an insensitive comment really never bothered me anymore; you get used to people being assholes (whether they mean to or not). However, it was a "burden" which the women were not used to and they had to deal with a prejudice that was brand new to them.

So without trying to sound too "protective" I must say that in a white female/non-white male relationship, it is the woman who may suddenly have to learn to adjust to a new and different social situation in which she may be chastised or frowned upon. Without sounding too clinical about it, I believe that you have to admire anyone who can assume and deal with those problems in the name of love.

That has never been a problem for me as I haven't dated that much and the girlfriends that I have had have been white but I have been attracted to women of different racial backgrounds. If I wanted to date someone of another race and she didn't see a problem with us dating and it made me happy I wouldn't care what anyone else thought because the two of us are the ones who are dating getting to know each other and we will decide if it is a good thing and want to go further.

LOL!

Yeah we got some leaflets through the door from a far right party... wanted people to return to there "ancestoral (sp?) homelands". I'm like, OK, my mum's Irish, dad's from West Indies, born in England.... hmmm, dilemmma.

Diver is right about it being more of a culture thing though... if you've ever tried to go out with a girl from a Muslim background, it's very, very hard to keep it running smoothly.

Anyway, like Warren Beatty said in Bulworth, we're all gonna keep fucking each other until we're the same colour anyway

What do i think about interracial relationships? I'm kind of attracted to them and that has never been the main problem for me too. For me, It doesn't really matter which ethnic or racial background she has as long as she loves and understands me. That's ok!

I have dated a variety of females:
Japanese
Chinese
American
Sweden
English
Thai
Taiwan
Italian but i have never dated Black girls or my favorite pornstars at all.

I'm not much for blacks or orientals, probably because there were literally none around where I grew up - such a lily white town. I like them and have nothing against them, even if most people I know do, but that's the extent of it. Hispanic girls are another story. It doesn't even dawn on me that they're another race. Maybe it's because I now live where there are quite a lot of them - even if the whites still outnumber them. Maybe it's because of this whole Ricky Martin/Jennifer Lopez Latin invasion. Who knows?
