Hi,

Has anyone else from Ireland had any trouble getting dvd's through Irish customs ? my last 2 orders from Erovideo (jenna and a Private title) were seized. When I contacted them I was told that all dvd's are being confiscated. I assumed that getting a legal title from Europe would be OK. Can you tell me where I can order from safely

I don't know what Irish customs are playing at.....the customs at Dover
say that as long as it doesn't contain obscene stuff it is fine...Private stuff
are OK.

Ring them and them them the UK laws!

homerjay,

Nice to hear from someone here in Ireland (finally) as regards some Customs problems here. My last two packages from Ero were stopped and confiscated, also. I would hazard a guess that they are monitoring the address that Ero place on the outside of their shipments i.e. since September 11th. (If you do a search back on this site for some my previous posts, you will find my opinions on this subject -- here).

I'm wondering, can Ero put another address on the outside of the packages? Or even take it off altogether? Aline at Ero may be amenable to that. A recent package from Denmark had no address listed on the outside....

Let me know further! E-mail me, if you want.

Good Stuff!

Still waiting for two more titles to arrive from dvdoo.com. They should arrive soon. Just to let you know, also, but I don't seem to have any problems (yet) with anything being sent from the States (or Canada). I mainly use Laser's Edge and Five Star DVD and so far have had no problems from them.

As regards EroDVD, it might be worth your while contacting Aline by e-mail and asking about leaving off their return address on any shipments from them in the future. This may be what's attracting Irish Customs to our packages. since my last two were stopped, I haven't gone back to them since, even with their good prices and selection. If you do e-mail, let me know the outcome, as I would be very interested. Hope this helps!

By the way, good to see another poster from the Republic here. Also, in case you're iterested, I'm from down Waterford way.

I had one arrive the other day from erodvd.nl and it had no return address on. (Envelope style).

I suppose that would be the solution!

I wonder if, when placing an order with them, to explicitly ask that they not put the return address on the outside of the shipments. That should mean that they (hopefully) get to us.

I wonder if asking them to not put it on ANY shipments destined for the Republic, would be a good idea???

Has anyone asked ALINE on this point?

Or is anyone prepared to?
