American plotted porn flicks in Italy are like white flies, but tonight I noticed that my favourite video rent stocks James Avalon's Dream Love.
I really liked Avalon's early works as Mondo Thundra for VCA (Butt Detective, Cyberanal), but then I was quite disappointed by what I have seen of his Cal Vista work (Vampyres, some of the Red Vibe Diaries): too few anals, presence of condoms, too many plastic primadonnas in the cast.
The cast of Dream Love looks promising (Flick Shagwell, Gauge, Nikita Denise), so I am tempted in giving him another chance. I tried to look for some reviews of this movie on the net, with no results.
Is anyone on this forum able to give me any information about it? Is it like his early works? Are the girls performances noteworhty? How much anal sex is there? Is it condomized?

TIA

This is the only review I've found. I remember another magazine review of this title & I seem to recall condoms were involved.

Hi SolijARis

I bought this some time ago but haven't actually got around to watching it yet. Having said that, I have skipped through the disk and I'm not sure I'd recommend it given your comments. For a start, it's not a narrative movie but rather a collection of vignettes reminiscent of Andrew Blake's work. Like I said, I haven't watched it from start to finish but it's a long way from something like The Butt Detective . The compositions, attention to detail and artistic flourishes are not dissimilar to Les Vampyres - the kind of thing James Avalon is justifiably noted for. I can't remember whether or not condoms were used but I would imagine so. I can check for if you're still interested.

I seem to recall reading a a fairly detailed review of this at DVD Empire so that would be worth a look.

Thank you all for the precious information.
Without your help I would have probably endured a couple of hours of images induced sleep.
Too bad that such a talented director like "Mondo Thundra" transformed nowadays in just another creator of boring, lavish, pseudo-stylish, condomized tame quasi-softcore. Like there weren't enough specimen of that kind around.

I wonder why almost only Europeans seem able to produce real hardcore plotted movies?
