I'm writing an article for joywank.com about Holly Randall's podcast "Holly Randall Unfilltered." I've watched a lot of porn star interviews and she is consistently the best interviewer I think. But maybe there is someone else I don't know about? Please advise so I can compare! Her interviews are much better than the kind of Howard Stern/Morning Zoo interview you often find. She has the benefit of growing up in the world of adult photography and filmmaking. (Suze Randall is her mother.) And she has worked in the industry for years herself. Two of her best interviews for me are the ones with Casey Calvert, conducted before and after Casey became a director. I'd love to hear what sources fans go to for interviews with adult porn stars and directors.
Id say Holly is the best interviewer. I listen to her podcast alot and have heard alot of the episodes. Outside of her podcast I used to listen to the Pornhub podcast with Asa Akira. She is pretty good too. When I first started listening to porn podcasts I was listening to Porn Director podcast but I havent listen to it in a very long time. I prefer Holly podcast first then Pornhub podcast with Asa second. But again in general I think Holly podcast is the absolute best.
Holly'a podcast is very, very good. It's a combination of her knowledge of the industry, all of the contacts she has as second generation porn producer, her excellent voice, and close attention to production values.

I don't know if you heard ofThe Rialto Report. The podcast interviews are mostly for old school and retired pornstars but still a great show. They did an 8 part special on Tracie Lords that was really good. Her interview with Casey is the main reason I got interested and started watching Casey Calvert both directing and starring in movies. Holly is easy-going and doesn't judge or make what they do a joke like someone like Howard Stern or other "shock" jocks.

It's still going strong, I just started listening to them last year. You also should check out Alone With The Pope-JohnPaul The Pope (from Kink.com). He directs and does the rope work for Kink.com. It's more of a "shooting the shit" format, where they talk about the industry. if he worked on a scene with the performer, he talk about that scene with them. It's ok but not as structured as Holly's show.
TT Boy's interviews aren't as good as Holly's but they're fun because he likes to brag about himself during the interviews and it's fun to hear his memories about the old days.
They aren't interviews per se, but Jon Ronson did two podcasts about the porn industry. The first was about how the internet, in particular Tubesites, have changed the industry, and is called "The Butterfly Effect". The second is about August Ames's suicide, and is called "The Last Days of August".
I echo others who have recommended The Rialto Report.
Yes, I really enjoyed "The Butterfly Effect." I actually found out about it because Holly Randall talked about it on one of her shows. I plan to listen to "The Last Days of August" soon.

No, I don't think she should do porn because she most likely wouldn't be good at it at all. Just from her interviewers about her sex life, she sounds too vanilla for porn. And her mom didn't do porn in her days. But she, just like her mom is hot as hell.
I didn't know this thread existed. I'll post this here. maybe someone will know what I'm looking for
I was just watching Emma's interview with Holly Randall from a couple of years ago & while they were talking about the director tonguing her butt unsolicited she also mentioned another video in which she asked that the scene be stopped ( it was bleeped out but I'm assuming he had some sort of VD looking bumps). I don't want to step out of line here because i'm not sure if mentioning Pornhub is ok in the forums but she said that that scene was on Pornhub. Would anyone happen to know what the scene is she was talking about?
Any other recommendations on iTunes, etc for long / conversational podcasts? When I search iTunes I find a mix of poorly thought out amateur interviewers and then podcasts for non-porn people ("Secrets of Porn Stars" crap with giggling hosts).
I watch Holly Randall on YouTube , she's had Lena Paul on a number of times , Lena seems very smart and has a good sense of humor. There's a few things she's talked about I'm interested in , the nuts/bolts of how porn works these days . Lena talked about how women now are more in control if their career trajectory , and essentially that OF us where the money and control are of course . She and Holly also talked about male talent , that today you need guys that get hard right away and stay that way . They both mentioned the pressure that exists now , because so many guys use more than viagra/cialis , economically you would want a guy who doesn't waste your time . Holly and Lena feel bad for that level of pressure , Lena says that so many now use caverject (alprostadil) injections . Lena also says she worked with a number of guys who have the implant , that's not something I was aware of . Analvids , well essentially every guy there except Vira is unquestionably on injections , anyone know about any guys with implants ? I seem to remember that there was talk about Mark Davis when he came back.

"And Now We Drink" is good. The host is this some kind of just-out-of-view porn guy, like a PA or something, and he talks to various performers in long, wide-ranging conversations. The convos can be pretty revealing/informative/fun.
Yes Holly is good - I also like Rialto report as I like to hear the history of some performers. I also listen to and now we drink pod cast while on long drives - I like Ms the Ella Nova , Lola Fae, and Tee Reel episodes where entertaining
Holly Randall unfiltered is an all time favorite adult podcast. I enjoy The Rialto Report mainly cover the golden age porn stars. Do dive in the 12 episode series "Once A Upon a Time in Valley" the Traci Lords from the porn perspective with their interactions with Traci and people who knew Traci personally. The Adult DVD empire interviews are really good.
Oh I have a podcast called the Michael Gavin Ali show. I started in 2021 it was on and off. I interview porn performers and others like comedians. I'm featuring more porn performers on the show. The show is on Youtube. I'm continuing to feature more porn performers going into 2025 and beyond. Please check it out.

no question hollys is the best current and maybe best of all time. its a crock that she keeps losing awards to 'podcasts' that have sex scenes at the end/middle of the interviews. like thats just normal porn lol
I don't think she is, because she talks about herself way too much. Furthermore, I like when interviewers humanize the performers and talk about life outside of the industry a lot. The guy who does "The Bougie Show" is the best
Its a great series to watch. Some self promotion mixed in, but really does manage to capture real life moments from the stars. Also addresses topics like Agents, Testing, Pineapple, Traci, Stormy, MeToo, Mindgeek, and the Pandemic. Its not like being paid to put on a polite facade. And most are established already, so you get some genuine answers.
- Bree when girlsway and other brands were just being established. - Jelena on being established and working with the stepmom dynamic. - Leah G on abuse encountered internal/external to the industry. Upbringing & being a mom. - Rachel as a mom entering the industry. - Alina's journey to/from the industry. - Octavia coming to tears when speaking of family members. - Gizelle being married and working as a couple. - Angela White as an Aussie in the biz.
Just comes across as interviews allowing people to express themselves. Nothing along the lines of hard-hitting, gotcha journalism. Kudos to them.
I highly recommend her show. It's the only show I got a lot more information about the industry and the performers personal life from their pros and cons.
