Walter Burns was the one IAFD editor who routinely stopped by IAFD Direct to process submissions from contributors into the IAFD database. Walter hasn't posted here since August 1st. Since that time IAFD Direct submissions have piled up without being added to the IAFD database. For example, the 26 submissions I made between July 11th and July 21st have yet to be added to the database. I stopped making submissions to IAFD Direct back in August when I realized that my contributions were not going to be addressed until Walter Burns returned. At this point it does not appear that Walter will be returning anytime soon.
I realize that the IAFD editors are volunteers who are small in number and that processing all of the new titles that come out every month, as well as dealing with all of the hundreds of additions/corrections submissions that pour in daily from around the world via the "submit corrections" button is time consuming, thereby leaving little time to address submissions to IAFD Direct.
Are there any plans to have an editor stop by IAFD Direct once a week to add contributor's submissions? Or do you prefer that contributors use the iafd.com "submit corrections" button to make additions/corrections to the database?
I personally prefer to make contributions to the database using IAFD Direct. I'm not a big fan of the "submit corrections" button located on every IAFD movie/performer page because I can't create hyperlinks (which I need to be able to do to prove my case) in the additions/corrections box. Nevertheless, I'll use the "submit corrections" button to make contributions if that's what you'd prefer.
I don't have the time anymore to contribute to the IAFD database as voluminously as I once did, but I'd still like to contribute once in awhile when I notice an addition/correction that needs to be made to a movie title.

I can stop in and make changes. I did not know that Walter was no longer visiting the forums.
However, I have a healthy skepticism about changes to biographical information and require sources to make any changes beyond just imdb and freeones since I have no idea where they got their shit and do not wish to contribute to a circle of misinformation.

We'd really prefer you use the forms on the IAFD site. This forum was never intended to serve as a second submissions queue. We've got a shit-ton of submissions coming in every day to our own site, let alone the endless pointers to Freeones biographical info which are here.
This forum was originally meant as a way for people to communicate with the editorial staff. Unfortunately, with the ebb and flow of editorial manpower, efforts have been focused less on this forum's corrections than on our ever expanding local queue.
It's really just a function of proximity.
Morbid says he'll check in, but given his comments, I would think corrections of substance have a better chance of being addressed than the random change of cup size via Freeones.
In terms of here being more friendly to hyperlinks than our form, if you just put/paste links in the body of the submission on our form, it'll get changed into hyperlinks on our end. No fancy codes or anything; just paste in the http://etc. and we'll be able to make with the clicky.
Thanks!

Sorry D.. I haven't been active much lately. Not on the forum anyway. Real life is a bitch sometimes. So much to do, so little time.
I can't make any promises about visiting this place on a regular basis in the foreseeable future. I will try to do so on occasion. I will have to pick those contributions that I deem to be most valuable though. Since I share morbid's skepticism and add a considerable dose of indifference concerning biographical data, I will most likely stay away from those kind of submissions.
I only have time anymore to deal with what I consider the basics: making sure performers are correctly ID'ed in movies and getting them decent and correct headshots. IOW, I would probably still want to deal with your submissions.

No worries, Walter. I know exactly what you mean, especially the "so much to do, so little time." Very true.
Good to see you post again on the forum. Your absence is felt, especially on the main ADT forum. I miss the Walter Burns Quote Parade, and of course Mystery Babe. What I especially miss are the Euro girl discussions and debates that you, Sbando Boy, Speelie, noproblemo, Gabriel Nine, Wally etc. used to have on ADT circa 2001-2003. I was only a lurker back in those days, but I enjoyed reading every one of those posts. Alas, those days are gone...

Ah well, we are 'old geezers' now. Reminiscing about the good old days is one of our greatest pleasures now. As long as it's not the only one, right?
