Porn( i like to say xxx-rated movies). Are they being affected by this horrific economy? I hope not.

Of course. Add to the fact that the general public has stopped BUYING mainstream movies on DVD, or CD's. Everybody is downloading stuff (in many cases for free). I imagine there was more money in porn just a few years back even.
I would totally agree. I used to spend hundreds of dollars a year on movies but know I volunteer my time to some websites to get my movies. I refuse to download illegal movies as this is ruining the biz. ----Todd----
100% yes it is. The sale of adult DVDs have taken a massive nose dive. As a result fewer movies are being produced, overall budgets are down which means quality is down and porn stars are being paid less. Membership sites have taken a hit as well. As as a result the owners are buying less content. Now the content market has taken a massive nose dive.
Everyone I talk to has had trouble finding gigs... I live in the midwest, just started in porn this year, and I travel to work, but I haven't been out to LA in 6 months because there's no one booking me. I understand that has a bit to do with "do I want to book a girl from out of town", but I also understand that it wouldn't have been as big a deal a few years ago. I do get more offers for niche stuff though, and I've been to NYC to shoot stuff a few times, but even then, it's slower everywhere...
Too bad, ClayraBeau. Your story reflects too well reality. I hope you can find a «niche» nevertheless, because nice and lovely people should always find their way where they want to go to. As other persons here, I buy less DVDs than before, mostly because their content is so much predictable compared to what it was some years ago. It's a matter of principle that I won't download images or CDs illegally, but I will subscribe to a website from time to time with various results. P.S. ClayraBeau, I know it can be a challenge for some, but what's about opening your own website if you cannot go mainstream? I am sure you will find your way if nobody around steals your money and if you can find something that suits you well sexually. Think about Debbie Diamond who has found her way into femdom (not my cup of tea, but it,s something specific) Explore your fantasies and see what you can do. I wish you well. Maybe other people on ADT could provide you with a few advices on that.
The economic recession has affected virtually every industry as people have no choice but to tighten their belts and be more careful how they spend their hard-earned money.

Correct. When you have over 12 million people out of work and millions more having difficulty taking care of essential necessities they're not going to waste much money on nonessential areas such as entertainment. Edited by - x3094 on 9/14/2010 6:33:12 AM
