I see the sporadic release here and there from Seymore. To be honest I can't even tell if the releases are new footage or if they're simply recycled scenes with a new one thrown in here or there. I haven't seen anything from Cousin Stevie also, which normally produces some good g/g fare. Anybody know the scoop here? Is Seymore still serious about making movies? If he is, I'd challenge him that he needs to up his game. AXL
While I think he's a great director and a pioneer in gonzo, his videos hold very little interest to me anymore. Partially to your point that I don't know which is old and new footage and what he makes isn't so daring compared to what others are making these days. I think he has all the potential in the world to produce amazing movies and really hot scenes, I just haven't seen anything of note in a while.
He never really recovered from Alisha Klass leaving his boat. His films were more impressive and more imaginative, very unique products than they have been for quite a while. The only exception : Anal Surprise Party (with Cytheria & Mari Possa) which was quite good. And as others said here, there are a lot of compilations coming from him. At times, we can see its a compilations depending upon the performers names. Now his films look like business to him, very boring to watch.
I'm currently trying to figure out if the one that I just saw released today by him is a compilation disc. The fact that Haley Paige is listed in the cast sure leads me to believe it is. And yeah I wonder what happened to Cousin Stevie's line? That's always been fun.
Seymore Butts had more going for him than just Alisha Klass. He's a fundamentally good pornographer who I think (for whatever reason) just kind of burned out. Alisha was hot but he didn't need her as much as some people seem to think he did. Perhaps he needed her more on a psychological level. I'm not really sure. I don't know a lot about him.
I think he was a trailbrazer that other people copied and learned from and were able to do what Seymore did just as well and sometimes better and some took it to the next level. Many of the things that made Seymore unique back then are quite common now. I think the same is true to an extent with Buttman.
Tom "The Icon" Byron was certainly able to reinvent himself and come back strong. In fact, both their styles are quite similar. Perhaps it would be a good venture for them to team up and create a company. They'd have the following covered: Buttfucking Asslicking Hot and uninhibited girls Squirting Lesbo-Cousin Stevie 3-ways They could do quite well really if you combined their efforts. Also, his relationship with Shane gave off a great chemistry in their videos. There was a reason why there were thought of as the "Burns and Allen" of porn. Always funny stuff. When Alisha (and to a smaller extent Taylor) came along it just turned into "watch my girl seemingly have sex with everyone else and oh yeah, me sometimes!" I've got way too much of his tenure with Mari still to watch to see how the chemistry there is but the fact that they're still together off screen probably speaks on that behalf as well.
I've watched his films over the years, in large part because he seems to have a knack for picking attractive "tushy girls". For me though I stopped watching after his latest "tushy" girl Mari Possa stopped appearing in his films. It's understandable as they have a relationship off camera, but as a fan of hers, still regrettable. I tried to give him another look when I saw that he had a rare dee baker anal scene (with someone other than her husband rob). Unfortunately the scene was ruined for me, while watching dee take it in her backdoor the scene silmutaneous had Tom Byron take it in HIS (via a dildo and I'm not saying that people shouldn't enjoy that but I wish seymore would have at least directed those in seperate segments and the viewer could fast forward to what they want) Just my two cents/gripes
I agree; back in the day, especially when he was filming Taylor Hayes at her peak he was great. He helped blaze a trail for Jules Jordan and others. I still remember another incredible scene with Jade Marcella, Sabrina Johnson and I believe Tyce Bunce(spelling?) that was amazing. I think if he got the inspiration again he could do great work.
I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that his son is getting a little older. He is now, what 10 yrs or something like that? He probably wants to spend more time with him and isn't as focused on porn anymore.
Not only that but he also doesn't have a focal point. He and Mari are still together off camera of course but there's no one on camera to have the adventures with and go with him everywhere. It's just: Guy meets girl, Seymore goes off to get water for them, comes back to "random" fucking. He always does better with a partner in crime.
I don't know if he got the inspiration if it would make much difference with me. If he's going to do the same type of stuff, I'm not that interested. Been there, seen that. When all that stuff was new it blew me away but now it's almost commonplace. I was a fan of Taylor Hayes because of her beauty. Shane was fun to watch. Alisha had the "wild" thing going for her but I never got into her. I watch her stuff now and it's no big deal because there are lots of "wild" girls these days. I don't think his work is bad by any means but it simply doesn't stand above the porn crowd like it once did. Others have cherry picked elements of what made Seymore special and do it all the time now all over the place.
Seymore was the real deal in the mid to late 90s. He was the man that made GONZO go. His Shane, Alica Klass, Samantha Style days were outstanding. He lost his magic when Klass blew out her anus and covered her tats. His end to me came with the mainstream of the Showtime show about nothing. Mari was nice but the rest of the guys have ripped his style off and now upped the game. But give Adam the props, that he was the man that really got Porn moving from the Vivid days to real ass fucking.
Seymore was nothing before Shane and nothing after Shane. Seymore had Shane thats it. And the no talent bum fucked up every scene she was in.

If any combination of Alisha Klass, Samantha Stylle, and Mckaylla Matthews was still on board, I'd still be buying every release. Unfortunately now that all of these 3 are gone, his movies aren't much to see. I'll have to continue to burn out my copy of "Behind the Sphinc door" and "Think Sphinc."
He got in when the getting was good, and made some classic, OG gonzo that definitely peaked during the Alisha era ... I think she brought an unparalleled level of nastiness and biological freakiness that made his videos a real circus of unbound human sexuality. It's not like he wasn't on the decline before the obscenity charges (which he beat) and didn't enjoy a comeback with the cable show, but I never though his movies were anything special after "Family Business" started. Is the talent agency still happening? I'd say it's a pretty good time to hop off the pussy train and just be a regular joe. If he doesn't need the money, lacks the spark, and has a kid to raise, why put up with the hassle of being a porn director?
