| GERONIMO3000 Member 97 Posts 3/05 | A homework assignment for you guys: Is the bad Economy actually helping Porn? Think about it. On the one hand, the bad economy is hurting *some* studios because a) they can't pay as much and b) fans spend less time buying DVDs and more time getting "free" stuff online. No judgment - I'm just sayin'. (I guess that's more a consequence of technology than the economy per se). On the other hand, the bad economy has had a more positive (well, let's just say "interesting") outcome. It's arguably resulted in the following: More newbies coming in/out, more MILFs joining up, more comebacks by former stars, more amateur porn, more fans and more porn entrepreneurs seizing on new technology. Also, more opportunities for stars to shop their goods to different "purveyors" online due to the increasingly fragmented nature of the industry. So, my (admittedly flawed) thesis is this: The Great Recession ain't so great but it seems to be great for Porn. Am I wrong? Looking forward to your thoughts. Professor Geronimo [Link] |

There have been scenes/performers from the past that I never saw and it's nice that some of the better ones are being grouped together at a reasonable price. It's too bad that there probably aren't as many new girls coming into the industry these days but there are so many girls who were already in that I'm still discovering. It's also a nice to check out more older stuff from some of my fav girls. The good thing that could come from the bad economy is directors should perhaps slow down a bit and try to make the product a bit more special by puting together stronger casts and trying to make the product better overall. It also seems that some of the girls are perhaps feeling the pressure to try doing some things they haven't tried before and perhaps stepping up their game. |
| Peoples Temple Member People tell lies my friend. Some people like publicity. I don't like publicity. 674 Posts 5/11 | I don't see any improvement in the quality of porn. What I see today is total garbage being cranked out by studios that lacks any erotic feel and is as synthetic, plastic and lackluster as it has ever been. I check out New Releases continually and lately absolutely nothing is appealing to me. I see girls who for the most part are indifferent to the sex and I simply am not enjoying it like I used to. I just canceled my subscription to SugarDVD after watching some 30 titles this past month and not enjoyed a single one. That may give you an idea how dissatisfied I am with the porn industry at this time. |

Another point I'm noticing that some movies , namely the featured movie which not only requiire sex skills but also acting skills are forced to hire few stars than before, in some cases only 3 or even two. It took forever to complete the cast of Jailbait 8 with good looking and solid performers able to fit the required standards. |
