Production is down, way down. Girls are in and out of the business because they can no longer make a living doing porn.

Oliver Strelly and Timo Hardy seem to be doing fine. They seem to be the only ones paired up with hot young babes. From what i heard some producers say is there are a lot girls coming in but not enough money or resources to shoot them all. So they all pick the ones they like and the rest don't even make it to a scene and are out of the business quick due to lack of work. i think there will always be money in the sex industry with excorting and strippers but not in porn, thats coming to an end fast. but in this economy even the excorts and strippers have to lower their rates. i think the big dawgs will last a very long time though. that being vivid,bang bros, digital playground, realitykings, brazzers....
I've noticed a lot of new 18-22 year olds getting signed with an agency over the past few months but they are getting very few work. Maybe one or two scenes if lucky. Meanwhile, the ones who entered the business in 2009 are doing quite well this year.
As a longtime observer and sometime participant in the Dallas pay-for-play scene, here's what I'm noticing. The quality of strippers is way down from what it was several years ago. "Extras" are pretty easily obtained in many clubs, though it depends on the dancer and the managers on duty. Whether the fact that a lot of clubs are basically brothels is related to the decline in quality of talent, I'm not sure. Despite the fact that cellphones and the Internet have reduced barriers to entry in the escort industry to basically nothing and made it a lot easier for a girl to attract clients and remain under the radar, the quality and quantity of escorts seems to remain fairly stable. Although it's easier for girls to conduct their business with a minimum of risk, that is not translating into a lot of the fantasy types -- college girls and soccer moms -- entering the industry. Instead, more and more of the women who used to conduct their business on the street are showing up on the Internet. And, whereas there's an endless supply of attractive 18-20-year-olds willing to make porn videos, the average teen escort doesn't come anywhere near the one who do porn in terms of luck and, on average, skill.
There appears to have been a decline in the amount of new 18/19yearolds entering the biz. I recall 15/18 months ago when the hot newbies were entering the biz at an amazing rate (a flashflood of newbies) but sadly those were before economic realities caused a substantial reduction in the amount of shoots and the remuneration has also declined which makes entering the porn game less attractive at the moment.
A slowdown is good as long as it means more scenes with my favorite girls currently working as in Trina Michaels, Kelly Divine, Sierra Skye, Vannah Sterling, Lexxxi Lockhart and Caroline Pierce for example.
they have also found out that they can have more control of their own porn scene destiny by creating a clips type website....then they can choose what sorts of shoots they want to do....it also has a lot to do with webcam companies as well.....talent dont need to even leave their house to make $$$ anymore.....for some they are sort of lazy and unmotovated until rent is due or the repo man has the car up on the flatbed.
With the DVD sales and studio productions in the dumpster, the best money is made from personal websites. All a girl has to do is a few shoots for big websites, anything from Suze or Holly Randall to Naughty America, get a fan following and open her own site. She controls the product, the people she works with, and when the biz comes back, she'll have a better bargining position for any studio productions she works in. It's call career planning.

This is very incorrect. Solo girl site sales are the worst they have ever been. If you knew the real numbers of what top girls make with their sites you would be shocked Most girls in porn can not make a living unless they escort.
Individual girl sites charge the same amount as other big, networked sites that are constantly updated with new material. Plus, some of these girls recycle scenes they shot for other companies and don't update as often.
I've joined one-girl sites before, but literally got bored immediately, even though I was really into the actress. My attention span is way too short for that and I most likely will never again plop down the money for a site with just one girl on it. It seems like only super ultra fanboys would dig that stuff. In the distant past (maybe 5 or more years ago), I was a member of a couple of the individual performers' sites. One was almost never updated, and the other was a boring flop.
Solo sites are ok if they update regularly. I was on Jelena Jensens for a few months, though i've now let that expire. The one before that i joined was Sasha Greys. It was different but i joined mainly to see new content featuring her and she didn't seem to update vids of herself all that often. ( though there was a weekly video update) My feeling really were if i wanted other girls i'd havesigned upto a network site.
The biz is in the dumpster I'm reading. Then what is the future ? So most girls make their money escorting. Solo girl sites are down. New ones always pop up all the time so why is that then ? Just asking I dunno.

Wrong Dan. Shyla Stylz would never make good money with her official sites because she has shot too many movies (over 100) that can be viewed for a few pennies a minute. A Sandy Summers, who did one b/g scene, plus a bunch of solo magazine pictures and internet photo sets, makes a living with their website. Another solo girl doing well with the web is Vanilla Deville. She has done a small handful of scenes for NA, Brazzers, etc, but 99% of her work is on her website. Porn chicks that done 50 or more movies will not make much with solo websites, because other places have their stuff much cheaper.
