But then again, I'm not a porn conossieur who knows all the ins and outs, so when I do find the name of a star and recognize him/her and suddenly look up the scene, it's probably a much bigger deal than it might be for other people. I had seen porn movies before but this was the first one I saw after losing my virginity, and now that I knew what it felt like to do the deed watching it was much more... I don't know, involving. In fact part of the reason I sought out this forum was because I was trying to find out the name of that movie. Now I know it's name, etc., but it's never been issued on DVD and I can't even find a print on VHS. But I'm sure someday I'll find it. A few years ago I tracked down a tape of the softcore movie Black Emmanuelle that I saw when I was 14. A friend of mine had Cinemax and I asked him to tape Die Hard for me, which he did, then forgot that he was recording and left the VCR running until the tape ran out, and Black Emmanuelle was on afterwards. We watched that tape a LOT that summer, let me tell you. Long story short I no longer have that tape, but I found a website that sells bootlegs of hard-to-find movies like that so I bought one. It wasn't near as explicit as I remembered, but still nastier than the stuff that passes for "adult" on Cinemax nowadays. [Link]

I had the same experience with "The Chameleon", one of the first movies I saw many years ago and just recently purchased a copy on DVD and it's just as good as it used to be. I think the thing that makes it so nostalgic is that from my own experiences, the majority of the scenes that I have had to rediscover were ones that I had seen when I first discovered porn. And by finding these scenes or movies again, it's as if I am sort of reliving the past and seeing these things for the first time again.
