I suspect that an internet node somewhere around Kansas City is running really slow and affecting content that is being routed to me through there, while sites that aren't being routed to me through there are unaffected. I've gone to speedtest.net and ran the test through different servers, and when I go through servers in KC, or on the other side of KC from me, I get results 20% or less as fast as they should be. But if I try servers that don't have KC between me and them, my speed is right where it should be. As far as real world browsing and downloading goes, I can download stuff from Montreal-based Premiumpass as fast as I ever could. Realitykings, on the other hand, I'm downloading stuff at speeds that are at most one tenth as fast as I could a week ago. Apart from porn, video highlights on MLB.com have become unwatchable for their slow loading. On youtube, I think it varies a lot, probably depending on where an individual video is hosted. So, is there anything that I can do about this, to get all sites up to speed for me?  [Link] |

See if other people are reporting similar problems. Some of the ISPs have techs that monitor and respond to posts in the forums, too. You could also try contacting Reality Kings tech support and see if they can either route your downloads differently or give you some idea of where the bottleneck is and who is responsible for it.
