| lantovenice Member 13 Posts 5/14 | I found this article is something interested to me, so I share here and we can discussion. This is the general rule of watching porn: Watch the entry of characters: A bit of curiosity on how the characters meet, what's the scene, how cute is the girl (and guy!). This would take around 30 seconds. Cut the crap: Nobody has ever listened to what those 2 (or 3/4) people talk. Skip the usual chit chat, caressing. Skip directly to the action part. 30 seconds more. Watch the beginning of the action. By this time, you would have got what is needed out of this whole activity. This would the longest you would ever watch a episode (is that what they call it?). This activity will last for 60-90 seconds. Check out few positions by spending 5-10 seconds on each. Now skip to the end. Just the sign off part. Add another 20 seconds. All in all, you can digest a good video is no more than 3-4 minutes. Its beautifully summarized by the below image floating around in internet. ![]() Now the real question is: How much porn should you watch before you are satisfied? Spend no more than 10 minutes on this and it won't be a waste of time. Back in the days when CD/DVDs were used, it was very difficult to skip but in today's mobile age, skipping has become so easy. Another advantage in today's age is that the viewing device can be carried anywhere. During the time of TV and PC, the viewer had to watch more content, remember it and then execute. Now! Carry the mobile anywhere you want. Beginners with high curiosity level tend to spend more time but AFAIK, an average 25 year old would have watched (including skipping) atleast 100 hours of porn. And since the story line remains the same in all videos, its easy to skip it. Bottom-line: It should be watched for no more than 5-10 minutes. Anything above that is waste of time. And watching repeated content is waste of time. Watch new content and improve your creativity. Source : QUORA [Link] |

The fact that such diversity in individual preferences, whether it's on the perception of physical attractiveness of the actors/actresses or the perceived importance of exposition in a porn scene/movie, is shown in this forum unravels any meaning or relevance of that "general rule". Bottom line: QUORA is talking utter nonsense. |

This always reminds me of a documentary I've seen about the making of "The Life of Brian", where some church people, without having seen the movie, condemned it as being blasphemous, and upon further request, blankly stated "because I assume it is". |
| lantovenice Member 13 Posts 5/14 | If you still dont get it, go back and ask yourself "How we used to life?". Because we are all need to enjoy every second, in EVERYTHING. Im fine to watch how good skill actress do. Tom, Dick, Harry you exampled totally pointless. Plus, did you watch Hollywood movie with skipping also ? Movie is born to be watched, no matter what genre. |
| lantovenice Member 13 Posts 5/14 | You should become Director once to understand how good skill actress do. And dont judge about my standard way. Dont you understand what STANDARN meaning ? Edited by - lantovenice on 1/19/2019 11:44:30 PM |

I am aware of the evolution of porn platforms as I don't buy DVDs any more but I pay for VOD, paysite subs or custom content instead. If I wanted to skip forward or backward on a DVD back in the day, it was easy because I used PC-based applications for DVD playback which allowed you to do so through clicking the progress bars using a device called a mouse so I completely disagree that it was more difficult to skip back then before internet porn became so disruptive. I don't even watch porn on a smartphone when I can watch it on a bigger screen at home, be it a laptop or my larger desktop monitor. Tom, Dick and Harry are a metaphor for porn viewers who like different things in porn but watch the content in different ways. For example, Tom watches internet porn only on his computer or TV at home and occasionally skips forward, Dick watches internet porn only on his smartphone and tablet at home, on the train or in his private office at work and he skips forward frequently because he has limited time to do so on his train journey or at his lunch break and Harry doesn't use internet porn and only watches blu-rays and DVDs and watches porn in its entirety. The Tom, Dick and Harry metaphor isn't limited to three "types" of people either. Surely you can understand that? The only certainty in this topic is that your comprehension is poor because at no point did I imply or state explicitly that skipping forward is a regular part of my porn viewing yet you assumed I skip forward regularly. I always watch the scene without skipping in the first viewing unless I have to pause or stop and come back to watch it later, like I always did when I watched porn on DVD. However, my experience, expectations and interests are mine alone so I don't represent everybody's viewing habits. You aren't going to find any apologies or offers to massage your ego when other people's experience and habits don't line up with yours. |

To each their own but I don't think most modern porn is actually made to watch that way. I think the studios that put out 45 minute scenes are just offering various sex positions of a certain length for the viewer to choose what they like the best to get off on. I a person likes doggy, here's 7 minutes of doggy for you. Here's 10 minutes of the Cowgirl some like. If a person has a preference in only makes sense that most people will fast forward to get to what they like the most. |

If you don't impose your personal perspective on others, why are you denouncing differing viewing habits as a bad habit. You're not minimalist, you're inconsistent and self-contradictory. The Tom, Dick and Harry analogy was not an attempt to be profound, it was simply an allusion to people doing watching content in different ways and there not necessarily being something bad about those differences. That different people do different things isn't profound or philosophical, it is a fact of life. Just to think you criticise me for my apparent lack of understanding when it's evident that you don't understand the concept of placeholders or metaphors in language.
