I've just gotten back to this thread after several weeks, and I will simply state, again, my point: performers should be allowed to choose WHO they will work with, and WHAT they will do. When certain types of acts/people are mentioned in a contract, it takes away that choice. Plain & simple--otherwise "why" put it in the contract.

The performers aren't forced to sign the contract if it contains acts or peopel that they don't want to work with. The reason for putting that stuff in the contract is the same reason that contracts exist in the first place. The contract says that Vivid will pay the performer $X amount per per month for a period of time and during that period of time the performer will be expected to perform in "A" number of scenes in "B" number of movies and "C" number of those scenes will contans acts 1,2 & 3, with specific other performers.

If the girl doesn't want to sign that contract she has the choice to not sign the contract.

I think that it makes a lot more sense to write a contract that specifically spells out what is expected of both parties rather than having a contract that is vague about what type of work is expected of a performer.

monique alexander said on flirt4free a couple of months ago that in her blackmaled scene she has to work with sean michaels and mr marcus and she said she was nervous because of the size of their cocks.

It seems you might be missing the point of a contract. When performers sign a contract, they are actually limiting the amount of choice they have in partners and acts. Basically, whenever a performer signs a contract with a company, that then means that she will only be allowed to work with that particular company, and therefore only with other talent hired by that company. Thus, if a girl signs a contract with a company that only hires performers of one ethnicity, it then follows that she will not be doing IR because she will only be able to work with guys hired by the company. If performers really want "choice" in partners and acts, then being a free agent is probably the best way to go. At least by being a free agent as opposed to a contract girl, the girl can choose to work for several different companies while also choosing which acts she will perform as well as with which partners she will perform. Contract girls actually have less choice once they sign their name on that dotted line, which is why it amazes me when people say things like contract girls should be able to choose their partners. Contract girls can only "choose" their partners from among the guys the company offers them, which is really not much of a choice at all.

As far as Vivid and Digital Playground are concerned, I can't remember the last video I watched from either company. I stopped watching movies made by these guys ages ago, and I haven't missed them one bit. I also don't expect to start watching their movies again anytime soon. In my opinion, these are two of the lousiest porn companies around, and none of their movies do anything for me. As for the IR issue, other than saying that I don't understand why it has to even be an issue at all in 2006, I'll just leave it alone.

Remember when it was such a big deal, "oh, don't do IR, it will lower your status..."? Now it's affirmative action?? I think not. I wish that we, as pornfans, wouldn't perpetuate this topic. Look, we all like what we like so we watch and spend our money on what we like. Yeah, I don't care for the way gonzo has become the rule and not the exception. Ok, I will spend my money on Wicked Pictures. If I want to see Monica Sweetheart take a huge black cock, chances are, I can and I will. Get off the IR...

I'm with you, as long as it isn't covered with open sores I don't care what the dick looks like, for me it's all about the girl. However I do get pissed at the overzealous fans who believe the decision about who does what to who lies in their hands and not the performers or directors.

Well It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that DIGITAL PLAYGROUND has a select pool of ELITE males that they rotate for their films, and contract girls work with guys only in that select pool.
Guys in that pool are SCOTT NAILS,MARK STONE,MARCO DUATO,MARK ASHLEY,TOMMY GUNN,and CHRIS CHARMING.

Scott Nails has been used in regular rotation more than the other guys, not that I have anything against him.
Its just that I won't buy into this whole thing of a girl chosing her male co-workers.
I have watched plenty of DP and have noticed this trend.
Do you tell me that when you book JADA FIRE or other non-white girls, they chose their partners?,who always seem to come from the above list.Is it a coicidence?
I don't think so.
Like I SAID,I have observed this over a long period of time and I stand by my earlier post about the company's reluctance to hire black males.
