Isn't he the guy who's on the run from the fuzz cuz he fucked an under age girl? If I've mistaken him for someone else, many apologies.
It's nothing definitive, but I had heard that he was up against California's three strikes rule (three felony convictions and you get sentenced to life without parole ... the terminology is from baseball's "three strikes and you're out" for non-american readers) for a drug arrest and had fled to Brazil, presumably never to return unless he wanted to risk being convicted at trial. This could be a rumor only.
I read about this same type of rumor on RAME or something like that. Supposedly he broke the three strikes rule by openly smoking weed on video. Fled the country to avoid prosecution. That's all I can remember of the rumor.
One thing for sure is that he hasn't been on video for a LONG time and definitely isn't in LWCBBMD anymore. (Has that series been discontinued?)
I seriously doubt it is the 3 strikes thing for the reason that Jake Steed is simply not old enough to have been able to have committed 2 felonies, served the time for those felonies and still have been a steady performer since 1989 until the last few years. When he entered the biz back in 1989 Jake looked quite young and he never had a break in his work from that point until his recent disappearance. Sure it is possible he had already served time for 2 felony convictions when he entered the industry in 1989 as I have never seen any official age for him but just judging from his youthful appearance I would be shocked if he was older than 22 or 23 years old.

Black, I heard the three strike rumor about 3 years ago, and I have to say that it sounds good to me. It doesn't take long to serve on a felony. I know people that have been out in 9 months with the right plea and good behavior.
The story I heard was that Jake and Body Gaurd forced women to appear in thier productions at nife point, and this was not the first time that this allegation was made.
Other than that, why would Jake lay low. He was an inevator in porn. One of the first to break out on his own. Why at the hieght of his career, and the overlap of porn, music and hollywood would he blow the scene? Jake is on the run, if not at a minimum on the low. I just hope was a good sqirrell and saved his nuts for winter, cause his website ain't gonna bring in much money.
