This is why the question is confusing. It assumes that because I am doing pro work, I'm not shooting for my site...or that if I am shooting for my site, then I can't be doing pro work. The fact is that nothing could be more untrue. Steve and I don't like to "hire" pros to shoot for my site..not because we are cheap (far from it) but because there is a colossal and quantitative difference between those in this business for the money alone and those who actually enjoy the sex. Since Steve and I are all about the sex, we try to keep the site on the same plane. Ergo we don't want "hired guns". 2.) Even if we did want to hire guys, it's just plain common sense that if you know who you are hiring ahead of time, you have a much clearer idea of what to expect from them. If I did not do pro work and simply hired guys (whom I would not know at all, since I would not have worked with them yet) then we'd have no idea of how good or bad the guys would be on camera. Ergo we'd be spending large amounts of money on a risky proposition. 3.) Doing pro work on the side allows Steve and I to meet some really cool people in the biz - especially other married couples - who have similar world views. When you're just an amateur, you can't have open discussions about what you do with 90% of the people in your life. 4.) Doing pro work pays very well (at least in my experience) and Steve and I invest 100% of that money into my OWN site - shooting more content, upgrading equipment, redesigning the site (in progress now), etc. 5.) Doing pro work on the side does in fact (as you mentioned) expose me (and thus my site) to a wider audience. 6.) Doing pro work and having a LOT of offers gave us a good excuse to get a home in California (which we love and have always visited ) while still maintaining a home back east, closer to family.Exactly! I have not met a single pro porn star yet whose site does very well or who even ENJOYS having a site. Many of them are not even personally involved with their sites, too..they are run by pro webmasters. Steve and I LOVE running my site. But we can't take credit for having a business plan here, though..when we first started off online 11 years ago, we had no idea we'd still be around today.
