Hip hop hasn't invented anything new, music and tats included. It's just institutionalized indiscretion and short sightedness in a way that rivals any other pop culture movement from the past. Tats have been around a lot longer than hip hop, albeit formerly not embraced by as many people as now. The tats you have today are permanent but will be just as dated and passe in 25 years as tats done 25 years ago are today. And when you're older you may also better understand how transient (and often moronic) pop culture is and how short sighted it is to brand your body permanently with pop culture references, thereby setting up yourself for a future as a living billboard relic advertising what will be eventually yet another passe, bygone era.
