Now -- I like some Vivid films/performers very much; Vivid has also put out some of the worst stuff I've ever seen. Vivid seems to put way too much focus on how pretty the girls are, and not how well they perform. So, sometimes you get great, gorgeous performers like Celeste, Niki Dial and -- for girl/girl at least -- Janine. You also get unispired stuuf with Alex Taylor, Lexus and later-day Taylor Hayes. Not to mention poor Chloe Jones, who just makes me downright uncomfortable, she's so out of it.

Having said that, I'm frustrated that the industry has such a tight studio system that the top performers (Devinn Lane and Janine, for example) can't hook up for projects. I understand that many performers say this offers the best working conditions, etc. But it seems to me that a credible talent agency -- maybe run by a smart industry vet like a Devinn Lane -- could do the same thing, and yeild the occassional blockbuster coupling.

I really don't like those tatttoos on Janine. But as my dad used to say, you could dip her in shit and she'd still look good. Come to think of it, some members of this board might really dig that :) Didn't she once say she got them so that porn studios would stop bugging her about boy/girl?

P.S. -- one of the best Lex Steele scenes I've ever seen was in a Vivid movie with Syndee Steele (now that's a pornstar). Can't remember the title -- the lead girl was short-time Vivid highlighter Casidy, who was also way up on the cute/nasty meter. 1. Hate Vivid Video. Tolerate Wicked Pictures because of Devinn Lane and formerly because of Stephanie Swift.

2. Never saw the big hoopla over Janine. Really. Never have. Implants. Tattoos. Eh.

However, I know some people find the girls I like unappealing. So, to all of you Janine fans out there I can totally relate to all you are feeling. I guess maybe the flack is over the fact that Vivid seldom makes tapes targeted directly to the IR fetish market -- it just occassionally has scenes where people of different races have sex (although these scenes certainl;y often play up the fetish aspects or IR). And Heather Hunter, the first big black female star, was a Vivid girl.

I think Vivid takes a lot of undeserved heat here -- the other big feature compnay, Wicked, certainly doesn't push IR as a main selling point, and many of its lead girls -- including the amazing Devinn Lane and the ubiquitous Jenna Jameson, I think -- don't have IR on their resumes. Julia Ann's only IR work was for another studio.
