The only type of Japanese porn that I've seen always seem to have women who look very reluctant and don't seem to enjoy the sex. My understanding is that Japanese women not appearing to enjoy the sex is due to cultural expectations, sort of like how British women were once exhorted to lay back and think of England. If that is the case then it may not be enough to pursue specific actresses, you may be better off looking for particular series that are dedicated to breaking the mold.
Yes I am always amazed by the number of Japanese women that do porn, when you consider how rich they are, and the fact that unemployment there is low etc. So why do they do it? Especially as they seem to do quite nasty things - Bukkake etc

As mentioned, a very submissive woman in sex is a cultural aspect and most Japanese porn is geared to that. You might find what you are looking for in some of the niche fetishes like a dominant female school teacher themed movie. I don't know of any specific actress or studio that specialises in this. You may be better off looking for uncensored Japanese porn. This material is directed at overseas markets and so is not so restricted by cultural stereotypes. Or, you can do what I do and just concentrate my Japanese porn collection on US and European actresses in Japanese movies and JAV with girls of mixed heritage.

I've seen some scenes where the girl seems to enjoy it or even act sexually aggressive with Reiko Nakamori, Rei Himekawa and Nana Kitami, will try to find the DVD/scene ID.
This is the conclusion I eventually came to. It's a performance. They whine and whimper and look abused because that's what Japanese porn customers like. I don't know if they actually like sex or not but it's near impossible to tell just from watching.
Two questions concerning Japanese porn . Why is the mosaic/obscuring not removed before international release , i would think that would help it's popularity . And why are US companies not making porn in japan , ie Evil Angel , they travel to europe all over , Brazil ect ? I have been working here in asia for about 10 years now, so a lot of japanese porn comes through here in S.Korea. It is my understanding that any porn made in japan that is sold domestically has to have the mosaic due to the law. Any porn that is specifically made for international sale doesn't require the mosaic. I do not believe they are permitted to make 1 video and release it both ways(domestically and internationally, ie with mosaic and without). There are Japanese companies that cater to foreign content, japanese men, foreign girls, foreign men(usuallu black) with japanese girls, and they are becoming more popular. As far as pay, domestic actresses are paid much more than actresses doing international release videos, the people i have spoken to from Japan give me the feeling that the only girls who do internationally released videos are girls who are 'past their prime' for domestic companies or girls that really need a break into the business or need the money. A good bit of internationally released stuff is of the 'amateur' genre. I only know of a few brands that are 'big' who do higher budget non-mosaic stuff(red hot, poison,sky). The girls who do mainstream stuff make a very good living and the top actresses are recognizable very similarly to movie stars, i don't know what it compares to with US stars though. In fact, there are a lot of japanese porn stars who have used the industry as a stepping stone into more mainstream stuff(like music,modeling and movies. As for the girls looking like they hate sex, it is a gimmick, a lot of bigger companies actually make the girls practice(take classes) on how to 'act' in their features.the whole submissive girl in a patriarchal society thing is big in japan, especially since asian women are starting to break that mold. And as for companies going to asia, good luck to that, i couldn't imagine them having much luck as an international company getting the documents to run a business in porn in asia. the only 'successful' international businesses i have seen have been online ones(mostly from thailand). I agree with Hardware's suggestion. Find the genres and themes which, by definition, require non-submissive non-traditional females. For example the Maguro studio/label has assertive/dominant/aggressive/big women. The men aren't exactly submissive, but the women are portrayed as equals or superiors, and the women initiate/control the sex. A possible downside (depends on your preferences) is that the women in this videos are BBW or have big boobs or big butts or big muscles, or are otherwise larger than the traditional Japanese woman bodytype. OTOH, if you demand the American formula which require the male porn characters to depict a 'type A' personality, then my suggested studio will probably not work for you.
The squealing vocal aspect of japanese female performers makes it difficult to find what Jasons is looking for. It permeates the jav product as far as I can tell. She may start the scene in control, but usually the high pitch noise soon sets in.
