Jenna probably is still nice, but as I said, she has a lot of overzealous fans who can act like idiots. Makes going to McDonalds tough, see? So she (and celebs) have people to keep others at a distance.

I'm going to bet that a porn star gets (for the number of viewers) a disproportionate amount of bad fan and worse stalker compared to other entertainers. Sadly, seeing a woman in porn leads some to think they have a right to be rude, obnoxious, and loud in public. She (and others) may not want to be propositioned for a quick anal bang when they are running errands.
When you see a guy at a bar be rude when they are embarrassed about being turned down? I'm betting the worse fans are louder, ruder, and more insulting when turned down.

My comment was based on how society would see him. No name pro-wrestler or bodyguard.
Well sheer numbers of fans (many of whom are kids) doesn't mean society looks up to a person in that position.

Your thread is about being bitter about Jenna Jameson.
Of course nobody got close to her - she had the entourage.
And they are there because of prior experience. If you are all about complete reading, you see that my threads were about life experience, not fashion week.

But what I really wanted to address is the comment made at the beginning of this thread that for someone to have a bodyguard at AEE - or any adult convention - is perhaps "taking things a bit far."

I've worked in adult since 1989 and hiring security at these events has simply become the way we do business today. As has been pointed out by fans and talent in threads on this site and others, the aggressiveness of a very small number of fans and paparazzi warrants their use. Jenna is hardly the only adult star to use bodyguards - I hired a security firm to work with Wicked at Erotica LA 2005, and Wicked used a Vegas-based firm for AEE last month.

Anyone who goes to the trouble and expense of hiring a professional security team isn't doing it for "show" value. The bodyguards are there to help girls get to and from the booths peacefully. Often, they don't have to do much else - fans are awesome, and just the bodyguards' presence alone sends the message to the rare troublemaker that it wouldn't be worth it to cause a commotion.

You don't have to search far on this site to find many, many accounts of Jenna being gracious, including one from me, and I'm not even a Jenna fan. I'm just saying, consider the possibility that it might be you.

Funny, you mentioned this, that Jenna's bodyguards are not for "show"? Are you kidding me??? Please explain the "Touch Jenna and Die" imprinted on their vests? When was the last time you saw ANY celebrity or porn star for that matter with bodyguards(hired hands) with that type of phrase or any phrase for that matter printed on their jackets? Your statement is pretty idiotic-you sound like you don't know who Jenna is-or haven't seen her personally paid security-they look like BIGGER tools than she does!

Sikid, I see it all the time - Example? When I promoted at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival, and rapper-producer-filmmaker C.E.O., owner of Nashville's Strike One Music and a major player in the South's underground rap scene, had bodyguards sporting slogans on their gear that would put Jenna's guards to shame. The same with veteran Nashville rapper and Bottom Boy Recordz owner Quanie Cash, who was also there, as well as Young Buck of G-Unit. It's pretty common in music world, actually.

Sikid, Having been Wicked's publicist for six years, I have a decent working knowledge of who Jenna is - and I especially remember how gracious she was (to me as her publicist and yes, "bodyguard," of sorts, as well as ALL of her fans) at the 2000 VSDA Show when she supported DREAM QUEST (her last full feature for Wicked) by signing at our booth. As for her bodyguards "not being invited to these fashion shows" - a celebrity's security team is never "invited" to anything, it's up to the artist to hire them to work the event. If Jenna wasnt rolling with her crew, it's because she chose not to bring them, just as she's done at XRCO and other events.

Like I said, not trying to change your mind, so there's no need to keep flaming me. I'm just clarifying some personal history in light of what you asked.

I agree with what he and a few others have said. I have heard Jenna and others say that bodyguards are because of past incidents. Jenna has a lot of crazy stalkers, and the bodyguards are to discourage people from overwhelming her.
Did it occur to you that maybe Jenna didn't WANT to be photographed during fashion week, and that's why she was trying to stay so low-key?
