We park(seemed like half a mile away), and it was sprinkling rain....they wouldnt let ANYONE in the store before Jenna was in. Jenna was supposed to be there at 7 PM....we got there at 6:32 PM...and stook in the spinkling rain.....this was JENNA we are talkin about! Well the line was alread amost to the BACK of the building...this is Jenna we waitin on...as we got wet and colder by the min, things went DOWN hill.......we learned its $20 to get in the DAMN DOOR, THEN NO POLAROIDS (also no camras or camcorders) and SHE WAS CHARGING $10 FOR A picture of her (signed), with her elbows on a table, with her hands holding her head...on top of that she didn's show up until 7:35PM!!!!!! WTF IS UP WITH THIS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the 3rd time I have been to this store(hustler Hollywood, in Monro Ohio), and the first 2 times WERE NOT like this one.....so this IS JENNAS DOING(so I presume)!!!! heres some food for thought..... 1st time there...we met Tera Patrick... 2nd Time there....we met Inari Vaches, Monica Mayhem, and Dee.... 3rd time there....we ALMOST met Jenna Jameson... For every disposable Euro-babe who'll take a handful of rice as payment for a ten picture deal (in which they take triple anal, facials, ATM, or any other gross act required of them), you'll have an American performer that demands $1000+ per BJ, and sets 12 pages of conditions about said BJ. The economics of it is that the market will ONLY pay what the performer is considered worth receiving based on all the factors involved. In the case of Jenna, her multiple appearances on E!, Howard Stern, various other shows and media outlets, along with her premium rate for dancing at strip clubs, we know that the market will pay her a premium at this time. This is as objective a criterion as you will find to weed out those who are Jenna's "slavering fan boys" as well as those on the opposite end of the spectrum who think "she's a hag, washed up and I'm pissed that others like her more than my flavor of the month" types. For the record, I'm in between-I like her performances and think she's cute but I wouldn't pay her $30 for a single autograph (now if she'd sign EVERYTHING I have with her in it for that much, I'd go for it). Jenna still has all the publicity from her years at Wicked proping her up, as well as her website, and now Vivid's ton of money. Publicity translates into popularity whether we like it or not. I don't frequent stores much in my area but such appearances, when not tied to a strip club, seem to be fairly rare. I'm not a fan of the clubs but I might try and go to them more when a feature dancer performs in the future. In any case, outside of California video/bookstores, do many performers hold signings across the country on a regular basis? Would it make you more likely to buy their movies if they did? [Link] |

Steph: well said! How often do I remark to Tina, for example, that she should come to Houston, TX on a promotional tour, yet she asks who'll pay for it? I would think that Pandora might want to reach out to some of the larger communities to expand their consumer base-so financing Tina's trip makes sense for them. I know Jill Kelly's company was sending stars out on the road as were a few others too.
