Jenna Jameson's Breast Implant Secrets
January 31, 2003 In part two of ET's exclusive interview with JENNA JAMESON, the X-rated film star gives MARK STEINES the bare facts about working in the nude, and why it leads young women to add breast implants.

MARK STEINES: Those who have come before you have tried to cross from adult films to mainstream. TRACI LORDS is the only who has done that. Have you talked to her?
JENNA JAMESON: I think part of the reason that Traci was able to do it was she denounced the business. She said, "I never wanted to do adult, and I was coerced into it." So for me, being able to do mainstream and still participate in adult, it is a whole different story.
MARK: Will continuing your association with adult films hurt you?
JENNA: Absolutely. I know that a lot of mainstream companies want to have the edge of having a porn star in their productions, but they don't want to go too far. So I think I am going to continue getting small parts until they understand that this is what mainstream America wants to see.
MARK: How do you deal with people who come up and ask about your surgeries?
JENNA: I am open about the surgeries I have had done. I think that it is certainly something you should be comfortable with. It is obvious it has been done. Hello! It's not like I can say, "They just popped up a week ago."
The number one asked question by women is, "Where did you get them, and how did it feel?" Ten years ago no woman on earth would have ever addressed that issue, so that tells you how comfortable woman are today with their sexuality.
MARK: PAMELA ANDERSON went through the issue of whether or not to make her breasts smaller. Have you experienced that?
JENNA:Absolutely. I have certainly gone through issues of whether they are too big. A few years ago it was really in style to be voluptuous, so I followed that style. And then, it came into style to be very natural and athletic. I am like, "I can't even water ski any more." Once you go to a certain size, you can't really go back. I think a lot of women should realize that there are after-effects before they go in.
MARK: You talked about how you had your breast augmentation done and you couldn't go back. Is it something you regret doing?
JENNA: I certainly regret having my chest augmented. I certainly do. I was pressured into it by the industry.
MARK: If you get more mainstream work, will you soften your look?
JENNA: I have been approached by quite a few producers who said, "We want to put you in the lead role of this huge film, but before we do that, you have to cut your hair, dye it dark, and get a boob job (take them off)." They want all these different things. And I'm like, "Well, then I will be a totally different person.
The way I look at it is I want to remain Jenna Jameson. I want to remain the same girl that everybody has known all these years and try to succeed that way.
MARK: The adult film industry has treated you very well. What is the biggest obstacle you must hurdle to make that transition?
JENNA: It is really hard for me. I am always telling myself, "I don't want to do this. I don't want to make the jump," probably because I am afraid of failure. If it comes, I will accept it. I am at the point where I don't want to strain myself over it.
MARK: Have you thought about doing a reality show?
JENNA: I have been approached several times to do a reality show. It would be such a good show, because the stuff I go through is ridiculous. I think people don't really realize how recognizable I am. I can't really even go to the grocery store anymore. I can only imagine how crazy a reality TV show with me would be, but I can't bring myself to do it.
MARK: Do you see a lot of people getting plastic surgeries trying to be something they are not?
JENNA: I see it everywhere I turn. I think the adult industry is the worst when it comes to pressure about how a woman looks. In mainstream, you are not naked. In my industry, we are naked all the time, so it is not as if when you are having a fat day, which we all do, there's a way to hide it. So all the girls feel pressure to be a size 0 and wear a 34D. That is not realistic, and it is sad.
MARK: Why is there such a fascination with plastic surgery?
JENNA: If you watch TV shows and movies, the stars are so amazingly beautiful, you can tell they've had work done. Everyone in the entertainment industry has had some form of work done. If you are a normal girl at home and you see Pam Anderson walk by on TV, you're like, "I want to be like that."
