According to the May 2006 AVN (in Club Jenna’s ad), Jenna Jameson’s directorial debut film “The Provocateur” will be released sometime this month. The film features all six of the Club Jenna contract girls: Jesse Capelli, Krystal Steal, Sophia Rossi, Mckenzie Lee, Ashton Moore and Chanel St. James. The interesting thing is that apparently it will be released in six different versions. Each version will have one of the Club Jenna girls on the box cover and a bonus masturbation scene featuring the woman on the box cover (i.e. the version with Ashton Moore on the cover will have a bonus Ashton Moore masturbation scene not available on the other five versions, etc.) I’m not sure if this has ever happened in adult films before but it has happened in other media. It’s happened a lot with comic books and it’s sort of a combination of what the bands Korn and Blink-182 did a couple of years ago. Korn’s 1999 album “Issues” featured four different covers (I believe all done by fans) and Blink-182’s “Take Off Your Pants and Jacket” came in three different versions each one with two different bonus songs. Now, the Korn thing didn’t bother me because although covers are important, the music remained the same no matter which one you purchased. I’m not a Blink-182 fan but what they did, I thought, was almost unforgivable. For die-hard fans, they were making them pay three times for (almost) the same album when in reality they could have put all six songs on one CD. The casual fan was never going to buy all three albums so it was entirely a ploy to rip off true fans. Luckily, this was the glory years of Napster and I’m sure any fan could buy one of the CDs and obtain the other four songs with little problem. In the case of “The Provocateur”, it’s probably just as much of a rip-off but what are you going to do? Adult film actresses should make as much money as they can, when they can. It’s a pretty smart business decision on Jenna’s part. If you figure there are one hundred devoted Jenna fans who are going to buy whatever she releases, you get 600 copies sold instead of 100. If the bonus scene was a girl-on-girl scene with Jenna and the box cover girl, I’m sure it would be a much stronger draw. Also, it’s quite clever of Jenna to turn a single multi-girl film into six individual purchasable items for each actress (Sophia Rossi can sell “her” version at personal appearances, etc.) I’ll just be interested in which version sells the most. I think it would be ironic if Krystal Steal’s did. Does anyone have an opinion on this? If this is successful will other studios do something similar? Really highly anticipated features like The Fashionistas 2 and Pirates 2 (I assume) will almost certainly be multi-disc sets so let me propose a realistic what-if. It seems that "Dark Side: Jenna Haze" is a popular film with a lot of people on this board. If there were two versions of this DVD, each with two different hot bonus scenes featuring Ms. Haze would you rent both? Would you consider buying both? Brian [Link] |

But I don't feel too bad about the B-sides I downloaded. Look, the whole album that the A-sides were taken from cost under $15. I bought two different single releases for $10 each. That's $35. I might shell out another $10 for an A-side I already have and 2 B-sides I don't have, but if I found a place to download the 2 B-sides, I would not lose much sleep over doing so. |

Even if the feature is a dud, you're sure to get a few hot scenes featuring the box cover girl.
