But, I had problems getting to the main menu during playback. I did however notice that the picture was not all that bad. So I kept it in mind for future releases of the older titles that I would like on dvd. So, I was wandering through my local adult video store today when I saw Asswoman: The Rebirth on the shelf with pretty Jessica Darlin on the cover. I have this movie dubbed on vhs (for my personal viewing only of course). The only reason I rented this title was because I wanted to see if everything was okay with this disc because Jessica Darlin is in every scene in this movie and it would be an automatic purchase if the disc was even close to average in quality. Boy was I wrong. The picture is among the worst I've seen on a dvd. It looks as though the master tape they used is screwed in a major way. Ever rent a tape and see that there is a fuzziness going on in the picture? You'll occasionally see small white horizontal lines pop up too. It looks like the tape they used for the transfer was not in the best of shape. But that's not all. About half way through the disc the picture starts to break up and freeze, and stops altogether, frozen. One of the chapters you cannot make it through by FF or PLAY, you have to skip to the next chapter because of the freezing. I think Extreme's now using more than one company to do the dvd's now because the menu for the trailers was the same design as a lot of the older releases but different from the design of the Nightstalker dvd. They must be using a couple of different companies to author the discs. This was a really good porn for fans of Jessica and would have been an automatic purchase for me seeing as how she's in every scene and every scene is a keeper. Now I'm left wondering if it's just the one disc that's defective maybe due to the freezing) or whether the master tape they used ruined ALL of the copies of this great porn. How could they give such a good movie such terrible treatment on dvd? I wonder where Tom Byron is now to explain the lastest debacle known as Extreme Associates dvd's? Seeing as how he's supposed to be the one in charge of the dvd department now. I don't usually trash companies this way but you can only give people so many chances before you realize they are never going to change. I drew the line when they fucked up a "Jessica Darlin in every scene" movie. I don't think I've ever been more dissapointed in a dvd because all I wanted was decent video quality and I would have bought it, and they couldn't even get that right. If you would have seen this (mess) you wouldn´t be surprised at all about their great DVD quality. I don´t even think it´s pure coinsidence that Extreme have the same initials as 2 other (really) big companies ... it´s Mr. b´s way of saying F*ck you ! cube |
