Her parents were fully exonerated. My impression was that this incident stemmed from some type of back-stabbing or in-fighting with Jewel and others in the biz. Somebody was trying to get back at her. Thus her statement regarding "politics" in the industry. IMO. [Link] |

| *Mutt* Deactivated User 752 Posts 8/03 | Posted - Jun 12 2004 : 11:43PM AVN gave Howard Stern a lifetime achievement type award a few years ago - after I wrote a two page email to them about his major role in the acceptance of porn as a normal part of pop culture and told them to give such an award. same as Judith Reagan gave Jenna Jameson a book deal a few months after I wrote her an email at Simon and Shuster, hmmm....she might have already been at Reagan Books by that time - and I told her that I thought it was time for Jenna Jameson to do a Private Parts like autobiography. i love the Internet, you can reach people so easily, I wouldn't take the time to write a old fashioned letter to Judith Reagan in a million years but email - i'll write those cuz I know withing 2 minutes of me sending it I stand a good chance of the person reading it. Anybody remember Stern's last great rant against Don Imus - about 6 years ago, I was up early and caught the opening of Imus' show and Imus took a low blow shot at Stern's wife at the time, I emailed the show's producer paraphrasing what Imus had just said and within 10 minutes Stern was erupting into one of his last great tirades against Imus - this was before Howard turned into the kinder gentler Howard Stern. god bless the interweb [Link] |
| *Mutt* Deactivated User 752 Posts 8/03 | Posted - Jun 12 2004 : 11:53PM ok i was half asleep when Jewel was on so maybe i have the story wrong. what i got out of the story about Jewel's dad and the FBI etc is that her father was in the state legislature(also remember him saying he had been on the state parole board), his political enemies i guess knew he had a daughter in the hardcore porn biz and I guess figuring that the family might be pretty loose morally went on a witch hunt hoping they would catch him with god knows what - kp probably - they raided his home and took his computer etc. I don't think the FBI was going after Jewel to begin with and used her parents to get at her - think it was the opposite. This makes more sense anyway. At the time I don't think Jewel owned a studio, she was just a performer, I doubt the FBI goes after porn girls unless they are going after a bigger fish to fry. Then after the feds fucked up her parents' life Jewel brought them to California to help run her biz. I could be wrong but this is what I got out of it - it wasn't that clear cuz Jewel didn't want to talk about it so it started out kinda herky jerky, bits of unconnected information. [Link] |
