I've heard the same rumors for a long time now. They've been around long enough that, if they were true, JKP would probably be out of business already.
That having been said, it's possible that the old rumors were wrong, but the new ones are correct and they are currently experiencing financial difficulties.
I'm surprised JKP didn't fold 2-3 years ago. I never liked her movies, they are too artsy and I can't stand music. Her movies now stand alone in the industry. I think it was a mistake for Jenna Haze to sign with her. Jenna needed to do more gonzo, she could have been as popular as Taylor Rain, Katja Kassin or Monica Sweetheart by now.
Perception is everything. Believe it or not, worldwide, Jenna Haze is a bit more popular then 2 out of 3 of those other girls on your list.
Keep in mind, some of these adult stars shine quickly to a bigger market by signing with high profile companies. There's also a much bigger SOFTCORE market for companies that aren't making anal milkshakes, jamming unicycles in orifices and slamming cow hoofs down speculum braced throats.
Like many people, I enjoyed JKP thru their Deluxepass licensing (so sue me) and have found many very enjoybale quality features. Sondra Hall is incredibly beautiful and Skye Blue is a director to follow. I actually heard the opposite, that they had struck a deal with foreign TV companies to license their products, so I'm not sure about those rumours.
To me, Jill Kelly Productions videos are holdovers from a different era of the business. However, gonzo has become such a homogenized joke that I like that JKP is out there offering a different option. The real problem I see with JKP though is that they knowingly seek to deceive their own customers, packaging old scenes together in compilations designed to look like new features. I imagine that compilations are profitable and possibly keping JKP afloat but when a company starts doing so many of them it kind of taints their whole image in my eyes. Also, there isn't a single contract girl there that I like.
Yeah, But what would you do when you start to lose money and have to pay them? I hope you like getting the shit beat out of you. Then when they are done that to you, you will still end up owing them the same amount plus extra.
Not all that fun to be living in fear while trying to get a hard on.
So you can't really comment, since those comments are "off the record" right? How's that work? Does that cross a line from "off the record" to "on the record, but deep background" ?
Actually there are several of the JKP women I like. And I think their no kidding features are pretty good. I just wish they would put a little more time into their DVD extras.

Personally, I don't think that they're comps look all that similar to the full movies, and I don't think anything is trying to be deceptive. Sure, the boxcovers have a similar look but I wouldn't really think that 100% Jenna Haze is anything but a comp.
I've been wondering about this also. Both adult stores I visit stopped carrying JKP stuff. I'm good friends with someone who works in one of the stores and he said their operations were a mess in terms of shipping product out and they got fed up and stopped buying titles from them. Granted this was maybe 1-2 years ago, but I wonder if that is still a problem.
As a consumer, I have to say that my problem with JKP is that most of their titles look too similar to each other. I usually prefer girl/girl stuff and Jenna Haze in particular, but it seems like their girl/girl stuff has almost the same cast in each movie and are loaded up with toys.
Does anybody know if Jenna Haze is still under contract to them? I wish she would break away from them. I'm 99.9% sure another company could utilize her much better.
Agreed. But I got burned a couple of times a while ago, prior to giving up on JKP for exactly this reason, when they did some "theme comps" (as opposed to "performer comps") that gave no indication of being comps.
While "100% Jenna Haze" is obviously a comp, "100% Anal" or "100% girl/girl" isn't.
