The long drought was partly because I followed a favorite dancer or two to another club, in Kansas, partly because I was afraid of what a Missouri law change would have meant for Bazooka's, partly because I had some financially very lean years, and partly because I was completely out of the area for over a year when I started my current job. And the verdict: Bazooka's is pretty much exactly the same as I remember it. I guess the law change was never enforced, or legal loopholes were identified. There was even one dancer there that I remembered and who also remembered me from all those years ago, though she has unsurprisingly changed her stage name in the interim. She told me there are several other dancers who have been working there for that long, but I don't remember them. I'm still pleasantly surprised that the first dancer remembered me, though, as I recall her being maddeningly inconsistent from one visit to the next, years ago. Always physically attractive, but engaged and chatty with her clientele one visit, and uninterested, going through the motions, and kind of out of it on another visit. But I guess last night was one of her good nights. Anyway, Joanna: I didn't know how early to show up. I got there sometime between 9:30 and 10, and as I was walking from my car to the front door, I saw a short chick with pink and black hair going in ahead of me. So pretty good timing, I thought: "It could still be hours before she actually goes on, but at least I know that she's in the building." It actually wasn't that long, an hour to an hour and a half, before she went on. For her first show she wore this outfit. For her second show later that night, she went with a black leather or leather substitute number with studs. Her dancing is pretty good, and she can work the pole. She has improved as a dancer since I saw her in Chicago in 2011, when her clumsiness enhanced her cuteness. But I guess one would hope she would have gotten practice since then. She danced for the first two thirds or so of both of the shows, then did some audience participation for the remainder. For the first show the audience participation was cooterball with an hourglass shaped glass she can squeeze with her thighs. For the second show she dommed a birthday boy with some props presumably from stockroom. Birthday Boy was was visibly reluctant and embarrassed by the experience, always entertaining for everyone else. And then she wrapped up the show with more cooterball. She did autographs after both shows, and lap dances, too. Her lap dances are quite reasonably priced by porn star feature dancer standards. Consistent with how she has been on social media and in a blog post, she was impressed with how pretty Kansas City can be. And in the Dog Days of August no less, when it can get insanely hot and humid here. I told her than I had gotten a lap dance from her before, in Chicago in July 2011. In a wild extravagance for my financial situation at that time, I had Joanna and Jenna Haze at the same time, but only for one song, because that was all I could afford. She couldn't remember that in 2015. She remembered it at Exxxotica Chicago 2012, only one year later, but not in 2015. Oh well, it has been over four years ago since the lap dance and over three years since I've seen her at all. I never got photos, because Bazooka's is still being old school and only using a Polaroid for pictures with the feature dancer. I'll see her again tonight. Edited to add a previously missing word. I don't know comic books well enough to know whether it was the costume for an actual minor superheroine from the Marvel or DC universes, or just a generic, non-copyright infringing superheroine costume, but it was black and silver with a cape, and I think maybe it had a spider design on the chest, but I'm not sure. For the second show, she came out in a nurse's outfit. I think it's possible that both outfits have been previously used in Burning Angel scenes or photo sets, but I don't know that. I wanted to see Joanna badly enough to arrange to be off work when she was practically in my backyard, and then went both nights, but I'm far from a Joanna Angel super-fan, or a Burning Angel super-fan, who has seen everything that they have ever put out. Far from it. But I think that if the nurse's outfit has been previously used in a movie, then it was in one of her horror parody porn movies. I think that maybe for night two, for both shows she may have danced a bit longer before beginning audience participation. Just like in night one, for the second show she dommed someone from the audience. The second night her victim was maybe more willing than the night before, but her own equipment didn't fit him. I made a point of looking at her equipment the second night, and it appears that it was indeed her signature pink and black line from Stockroom. But his neck was too think, the collar wouldn't go around it. But she ended up improvising and took his leather belt off of him and used it instead, first as a whip, and then as a choke collar and leash. After shows, she was very nice. I had followed her twitter and Instagram accounts that day, and I asked her what she had eaten at Joe's, and I believe she said she had had ribs and smoked turkey. I opined that I had always been more of a brisket guy, and she said since she had had Texas BBQ brisket the week before in Dallas, she had something different this week. Anyway, I did end up getting a Polaroid with her after all, but I don't feel like sharing it. She was very thankful to everyone who came out to see her. [Link] |
