Truly a sad day for all the lovers of John's work in the porn industry. He truly will be missed as one of great actors and directors in the business. Rest in Peace my friend.

DAMN! Besides All of his great porn he starred and created, my favorite memory of him when I ordered his CD In The Kitchen and asked if he would autographed it. He did. RIP John Leslie Dupre! DVS D
One of my favorite directors of all-time. I like him better as a director than a performer but he was one of the best at both. His ole buddy Jamie Gillis passed earlier this year. That leaves Joey Silvera, Hershel Savage, and Ron Jeremey and the remaining male performers from the "golden age".
Truly sad news, both personally for his family and friends, and for fans. He was one of the best, both as a performer and a director. The girls really responded to him when he was effing them; he was not too rough, but very masculine, yet playing around too. And as a director, he was superb.... RIP
Jamie once told me the story of he and John going into a Times Square porno theater circa 1978 and seeing Constance Money on the screen. Almost simultaneously they turned to each other and said "Can you believe we get to fuck these girls?" Wonder if such anecdotes will make it in to the eulogies. R.I.P. John The man had a sense of humor too. I remember a scene where Laurel Canyon was riding him reverse cowgirl. He was playing a private dick and was wearing nothing but a hat. The hat falls off and he stops everything and tells her to go get the hat. Total ad lib according to Laurel. She tells me "I couldn't believe he had stopped everything and was making me get his fucking at. I had no idea what he was talking about until I saw him motioning to a hat on the floor. I climbed off, got the hat, sucked his dick and climbed back on. I remember he had a great big grin on his face."
This sucks. He was one of the best directors ever. A true artist. He could make movies that were erotic and smutty at the same time. His scenes were always unique, an impressive feat when you take into account his prolific output. He's right up there with DeRenzy/Borsky, Stagliano, Dark, Jules...R.I.P.
Truly one of the most influential guys ever . Gonzo , Evil Angel , Buttman , Rocco- so much of what we see today is something he started or perfected . Great funny guy who didn't take himself too serious , and all the joy and fun showed in his work . Condolences to Tricia , my heart breaks for her .
This is what happens when I port before having a cup of joe , I had meant to mention his wife kthleen , married I believe for more than 20 years . I had meant to say how much I love his E/A work , especially the Voyeur series , the scene in # 6 with Tricia and Nikki Brantz is as fine a porn scene as has been made. He had such a great talent as an actor and director. --------------
