Jules Jordan

I recently had the pleasure of reviewing my first Jules Jordan film, Ass Worship 3. (Please read the review, your comments would be appreciated).

I'm sure Jules's work will have been debated at length on these pages, but I felt I needed to compliment him on what he is trying to create.

I can only comment on Ass Worship 3 at present, but I can now appreciate why Jules has been receiving rave reviews for his work.

Firstly, I really appreciated the lengthy tease sequences that preceed each scene. Jules is Buttmanesque in the way in which he reveres the womens' asses and scans their curves with the camera. Not everyone appreciates this kind of thing of course, and I have friends who would scoff at this and fast forward to the sex, but for me, affection for the female form, can be appreciated in the same way as a beautiful sculpture or picture hanging in a gallary.

Secondly, I would also pay tribute to Jules and the team for the way the girls were made up to look as sexy as possible and to provide for fetish tastes, such as the Ryan scene, although personally, that did nothing for me.

Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, I would like to compliment Jules for the way in which he shot the sex. I've always appreciated the work of John Leslie for the way in which he pans around the sex to give some great angles and to give the viewer some wide angled shots of the action. I can think of countless occasions where a scene focuses on penetration or limited body shots at the expence of a wider shot that would show the girl's reaction or those lovely slender legs.

Jules uses a mixture of POV and other techniques to give us some great angles which concentrate on the best attributes of the girls.

Finally, I appreciated the way in which Jules used the environment to good effect, such as gauge on the stool to show her great ass, as a case in point.

The only criticism I would have, and of course all of this is essentially subjective, would be the sex toys, which seem a little clinical for me. At least however, they serve the purpose of giving us a good view of the woman.

In conclusion then, it seems to me that there are directors who primarily shoot sex, and there are those that primarily shoot women. You can and should of course do both, but for me, and I think Jules, the woman is all important. Thus for me, does the girl look sexy is more important than does the girl do DP or DAP?
