^ Yes, you're right. BUT those that have gone that route have already done a lot of extreme scenes which coupled with savvy social media they can earn a lot more. That doesn't mean I support it, but they have to create a strong foundation to be even remotely popular. We used to see contract performers only doing vanilla scenes, now we have lots of hot women doing porn. However, for a lot of performers, to stay relevant they need to be producing some decent content (pro or homemade). I can't handle snapchat quality videos, not with 4K quality a few clicks away (thanks Jules). I will never understand the appeal of paying $15-20/m for snapchats, I've only purchased one from a retired performer ($50 for life) that I'd regard as one of the hottest, yet most underrated and she is awesome.

There's also less demand for these girls to keep shooting scenes. They've all been in the industry for a good amount of time and everyone's seen them in lots of scenes. So it makes sense for them to start exploring other ways to make money. Also, in Lana's case, she made a decision to change how her body looks, and since then I think she's been a lot less popular.
Top girls are top girls even after 3 or 4 years in the business, the problem is they don't win the money they deserves in shooting, for example Lana take Dredd & Mandingo in the ass, how much she take for that? Do you know that pornstars in late 90's win 3 time more than now!

This is your opinion, but it isn't really how the industry works. New faces and bodies are more important to most producers. There are some few "top girls" that can sustain a career for several years and will shoot maybe hundreds of scenes in that time, but even with these top girls, the demand falls off over time and then they leave. The money in the 90's was completely different because the business model was different. Some girls back then might make $30K for a single feature. But now production budgets are much smaller and are usually for just a single scene, not an entire movie. I think most girls now make less than 1K per scene, or maybe less than 1.5K would be more accurate. It's not a lot of money for putting yourself out there for the whole world to see taking a dick in your mouth, pussy, or ass. One more thing, you keep saying "deserves", as in these girls deserve more money because they are top girls. Producers are the ones that decide how much to pay and I don't think they see your top girls as being any more valuable than a new girl that is young, fresh, pretty and that not many have seen yet taking dicks in her holes.

I never said I had one. I think it helps if girls come into the industry a little older and wiser to the world - say early 20's instead of teens. It helps if they don't sign with LA Direct and it helps if they have some sort of financial sense, which the vast majority of them do not. They spend the money as fast as they make it and leave with nothing. It also helps if they don't shoot too many scenes at any one time and oversaturate the market. Also, and this should be obvious, it helps if they don't build a reputation for flaking on shoots. Just like in any business, the people you work with want you to be professional and reliable so that they can get their jobs done and go home at the end of the day. A super hot new girl can get away with a little flakiness or diva-ness at the beginning of her career, but if that shit doesn't change she'll soon enough find herself getting nexted. The top girls, I think, meet both the attractiveness test and the professionalism test, or they wouldn't have careers at all.
^ You know these days performers who make their own content make much more money than any of the A listers. And in the mainstream porn they have to do 10+ scenes to make a decent living, which can be too much work for some.

If I use your numbers than a performer doing 10 scenes per month makes less from that than a performer who does her own content. Here is the basic calculation. 10 x g/g scenes at 500$ each is 5000$, 10 x b/g scenes at 1000$ each is 10,000$ and that last number can get higher if she does a popular fetish like anal. Now maybe they do make more from private content but somehow I have a feeling that most of them don't for the simple reason that there are simply too many active performers, ex-performers, active cam models and ex-cam models all looking to get us to buy their private stuff that it's impossible for most of them to make more than a few hundred dollars per week from those sources. That's not to say that a select few aren't making a lot of money but I think that even for those select few. That kind of money can dry up as the people that have both the money and desire to buy the private stuff is finite and I think most of them realise that it's not worth the price they paid for it. I also can't help but point out that unless you do porn or camming for a fairly long time then it's going to be really hard to acquire the large quantity of fans needed to make good money from them buying your private content. The best business model I see for a performer to maximize her earning potential is one that is long term. Long term for me is at least 2 years where the performer starts fairly small and builds her porn portfolio over the first year and only does the more hardcore stuff in her second year. Of course that doesn't mean that a performer and her manager can't decide to do everything in her first year but I find that most performers tend to burn out faster when they go down that route and while they can earn huge paychecks doing that. Those paychecks get smaller the longer they stay in the industry and because they kind of burned out then they may not want to keep doing porn.
Girls like these have also signed log term special deals with companies trying to keep them off the market for a long period of time, simply out of greed. Some of the lack of diversity comes from this. I had Mia booked for 5 scenes last year at a great rate, but all were cancelled.
Is anikka albrite expected to make a return to porn anytime soon? She is missed dearly and id love for her to come back to take on dredd preferably for a vaginal scene, im not one for how mainstream anal has become.
