I had ordered some Lexington Steele vids from the US (live in Canada) and they included LEX THE IMPALER, and HEAVY METAL 1 & 2. I got them based on screenshots I'd seen, and reviews read here about a month ago.
I can't remember being this excited about porn since seeing my first Stagliano vid so many years ago. Lex is a great performer but what really got me was the quality of the vid and how the girls were presented. I immediately checked back to see what other Jordan vids are available and I'm now chomping at the bit to see his other stuff like "Bottom Feeders" and "Flesh Hunter"
The style is simple and effective and he seems to know when to present a video effect in the action, to slow something down or cut to close-ups. Nothing is overdone or distracting as I find in many other vids of late.
That's the kind of thing I love. Gorgeous girls getting down and dirty and lots of teasing and great anal shots! And of course...girls who are really into it and get major facials. Wow, I just love it all don't I? ;)

In Jules' early stuff with Pleasure/Rosebud, the sex is just as hot as it is now with his Evil Angel stuff.
The only problems with his early work are technical. It seems that he didnt't have a good understanding of lighting. He did lots of stuff in ultra bright rooms with lots of natural sunlight, very often pointing the camera directly into the sun. With video, too much light is just as bad as not enough light.
Either Jules learned on his own, or he quickly got tutored by John Stagliano, because these problems seemed to disappear as soon as Jules went over to Evil Angel.
To be fair, there is still some Jules Jordan work that hasn't been released by Pleasure/Rosebud, so it is possible that Jules lighting improvements occurred while he was still with Pleasure/Rosebud.
Also, don't let the lighting criticisms stop you from buying his early titles. It hasn't stopped me.
I have only seen two of his Pleasure/Rosebud releases, and while I agree that they did have technical problems, the action is hot.
You wanna know something, I had never heard of Jules Jordan before he moved to Evil Angel. Now that I've only seen four of his films, Flesh Hunter, Ass Worship, Bottom Feeders, and Heavy Metal, I can safely say, he is one heck of director. I find his style so awesome that after only seeing four of his films, I have placed him at number three on my list of favorite directors.
It's so great that Evil Angel has him now. He will be able to do some great things with them, as he already has.

Bill, BigMike...I was reading about some of your fave anal directors in another thread. I'm really on the lookout for similar stuff...I'd never heard of Christoph Clark who you mentioned. What are some other titles and directors you like, and to keep the thread relevant, your absolute favorite Jules vids/scenes/girls...I'm going nuts and I feel like I really need a connection to others who love this stuff (believe me, none of my friends do). Have a feeling I'm going to be a regular here in no time...
Christoph Clark is with Evil Angel, I have reviewed some of his titles; Beautiful Girls 3, Euro Hardball 5 and 14.
Clark's titles usually involve heavy anal and ass stretching (gaping) with mostly Euro girls. He has a few different series under Evil Angel.
Jules is third on my list only because I've seen four of his films, but I will see more. I really like Jules, I'm just sorry I didn't hear about him sooner.
Tom Byron is my second favorite director. The reason I like Tom Byron so much is that he has no BS, just strait to the sex, so there is hardly an attempt at plot. I have reviewed a lot of his films; Lord of Asses, Planet of the Gapes, Whack Attack (everyone that is on DVD) all from Extreme Associates. And some of his Cumback Pussy series for Elegant Angel, I hope to review all of his Elegant Angel titles.
Now I like Joey Silvera most of all, I have all of his Rogue Adventures, Please 1 & 2, Service Animals (all that are on DVD), and I think I should be getting Runaway Butts 2 soon, though I didn't particularly care for the first one. I will always order Joey Silvera's work.
I have mostly Silvera's and Byron's work in my DVD rack.

I have some access to a few Silvera and Byron titles. The reason I never bought them, and it is rather silly, is because I never really dug those guys as porn stars and I guess I just still picture them in the same old way. I guess I should give them a shot sometime, but I'm hesitant.
Yeah some of their stuff can be an acquired taste.
But the reason I like Joey Silvera so much is because he is quirky, a lot like me.
But I know that Joey and Tom have also been in the biz for over 20 years each. Byron came into porn in '82, and Silvera in, I believe, '74.
Jules is relatively new, as far as time in the biz goes. It's good to know that there are directors capable of what Jules does, out in porn, and the best part is he's young. So as long as he keeps himself healthy, he should be around a very long time. Which is good to know these days, that there will be someone who you can count on to bring hot porn with hot girls, usually anal.

Long time lurker here...thought I'd finally chime in on a thread.
I own one Jules Jordan directed dvd, early Pleasure title NEW BREED 3. I had to have it for the Christy Parks scene with Lex, Marcus, Everhard, and Irons. Holy shit she's incredible! Been crazy about her since NICE RACK 6.
The only thing holding back this scene and the rest of the dvd are technical/lighting problems mentioned by Bill and Mike (involving Jules early work). There's a scene with covergirl Gina Lynn (?) that suffers the most...sunlight glare...dark shots. The sex itself is shot very well by Jules, so all is forgiven. :) I also have to mention the April Flowers/Mr. Marcus scene which was off the charts. Marcus is a little rough for my tastes, but April is so gorgeous. Jules captures some stunning tease footage of April (perfect ass and all) to set up the action.
So I guess the bottom line for me is that I'm interested in more of Jordan's work since the technical aspects are improved and the sex is captured so well. I'm hoping Rosebud title HEAVY METAL 2 comes out on dvd soon. Any opinions on that title? I'm debating getting a couple evil angel titles also. :)

Don't debate. Evil Angel is the one studio where I could recommend just about every title they put out.
Jules Jordan is one of the best, I have only seen Flesh Hunter and Ass Worship under Evil Angel, but both of those are highly recommendable. And I know I will buy every title that is directed by him and under Evil Angel.

Thanks for the responses. Even with the good buzz surrounding Jordan/Evil Angel titles, I really pick and choose carefully what titles I purchase. Overall female cast is a major % of what I base my final decision on. Truth be told, the new Evil Angel titles have been hit and miss in that area for me.
LEX THE IMPALER is on my wantlist though. Mainly for April booty-thrusting Lex's pole! (Yes, I know...non-anal, condom...don't care) :)
