I`m a total walking cliche. After 3 years of heroin addiction - suprise suprise - my sex drive is suffering. Thankfully this is not harming my relationship - she bogged off as soon as she realised what a loser I am.

The obvious and easiest way I can guage it is by the infrequency of my masturbation. Prior to me becoming the worlds most pathetic bastard I was the worlds biggest wanker - a hobby that I enjoyed immensly. Even while I was still courting - my unbelievebly pretty girl still did not break my six times a day habit - oh the pain of it all. I have not had a tug now for nearly 3 weeks.

I just wanted to get that of my chest - sorry for wasting your time - couple of silly questions to throw in as well.

Will I ever reagain my Jerk (er) supreme status? I can see that my sex drive is bound to improve when I manage to get clear of that crap but have I done any permenant psycholgical damage? I know that this is a bit of a "how long is a piece of string" question but I reckon that I`m not the only person to ever get into this mess and perhaps a kindred spirit is a member of this forum.

Technical question. On the last couple of rare occasions when I have had a bash I`ve had a bit of moderate pain in the barrel of my shooter - is this a symptom of cock related inaction? Do I just need to start greasing it up agin on a regular basis? I don`t experience genital pain at any other time - I live in a conseravtive middle class area and I don`t think my doc will appreciate me discussing my wanking habits - he`s used to treating senior citizens and I don`t get the impression he is used to psychosexual elements in his practise.

Sorry for such a silly rambling text - I`ve spent the majority of the evening smoking crack cocaine and now I feel even more pathetic than usual - but to be honest I am genuinely concerned that I don`t like sex any more. I`m hoping that spending a bit of time on this site will get me back into that mood.

Well, the first thing you should do is stop beating yourself up. I assure you that won't help. I can't say I've been there as far as the heroine goes. Sorry. Wish I could advise. Maybe someone can.

As far as your doctor goes, well, hmmm....I dunno. I've never mentioned masturbation to a doctor so I'm not sure how they take it but my guess is that he wouldn't be surprised to learn that, as a male, you masturbate. Doctors hear everything and in this case, as you seem to be concerned, it might be a good idea to see what he says.

heck, my sex drive went totally away during a 6 month pain killer addiction/binge. The opiates medically will do that to you while you use. I am not saying anything to be judgmental because even now I would lie and damn near do anything to get more pain meds if I see them....(out of sight is out of mind.... damn, this post is making me jones now....),but,

You know what you need to do to fix this sex problem......

BTW, what I did is not 3 years of heroin, but, for me, i got back into a very active sex life within weeks of kicking...

If he's treating senior citizens, then he's seeing lots of venereal disease, and getting a lot of questions about erectile disfunction and viagra. Go ahead and ask.

Also, what do you care if your doctor has an inappropriate and unprofessional reaction to a medical question?

Certainly kicking all the drugs wouldn't hurt.

Too right pal - easier said than done though.
Cheers for the replies chaps - I suppose with the position im in I don`t really have to worry about losing face in front of some prude doctor.

The saddest part of my story is that prior to my getting into this mess I was a qualified psychiatric nurse (well i still am qualified - malpractise hearing at the end of May) and I used to work with a plethora of doctors who really dug these sort of problems.
