Slooooooow down, Rough Road. Before you go scaring these good folks, just Where exactly did you hear this dubious piece of news? Who's your source? Did you run it past Luke, Gram, Gene Ross, Rog Pipe or anyone else usually in the know? I think you'd better double check That story.

Duke: if that question is directed to me, I've posted 4 or 5 times about Katin, and in almost every thread, someone comes back and says she's gone for good.
Skronker says the man upstairs will appear again sooner than Katin, and even though that's an answer I didn't want to hear, his word is good enough for me.

Well, then, If your only sources for this information are other posters, I'm gonna take this as another silly internet rumor. As much as I Love my fellow New Yorker Skronk, I have yet to see it in any of the industry Newssites. Nowhere. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Besides, As far as I know, she's still escorting for Bodymiricle LINK. If she's going to do that, She needs to crank out out at least some new material, for the free product advertising, to motivate her fan base and to maintain her status as an "active" pornstar. Barring an official announcement on her website or MySpace, reported in the industry news and duly quoted as such by a poster, you should never take such rumors in an internet forum at face value.
Katin said so herself at the Vegas show two years ago -- Jan. 2005 -- that she was done. And this has been continually re-confirmed every time I asked someone about her -- people who knew her/know her. Besides, the lack of DVDs featuring her in that interim should be evidence enough. She expressed a lot of dislike for the industry, though she gave it a great run. She was an amazingly cool chick. People have been crying about this since 2005, you can go back and read all the posts.

Skronker: What did she dislike about the industry? If I'd have been a producer with moderately deep pockets, I'd have done ANYTHING to keep a girl with her looks and enthusiasm happy. She could've called ALL the shots, literally and figuratively.

Skronk, this is silly. IAFD lists her as active, and lists several 2006 (and one 2007) titles. Yes, I know she could have had stuff in the can, but continuing for two years? And other than the two year old Vegas quote, all you've got is second hand info. As for the posters crying about it (and I would too, if it were true) again, what are their sources? Has she posted it on her webside or MySpace? Has it been reported in any of the industry press or Gossip Sites, so that one could point to it and say, without a doubt, "Here. Here's where she said it?" Her Wiki page makes no mention of retirement and even notes that she was winning awards in 2006, a year after her purported "retirement." (AVN and XRCO, to be precise.) Luke has never reported that she's retired. (Here's a link to his complete file on Katja) And I didn't want to play this card, but she's been posting at "the Other Site" lately, and posting as though she's still active. At least she was, until someone discovered the Bodymiricle site I mentioned above. Then she stopped posting, probably because she's on record swearing she'd never, ever escort and got called on it. I'd post links to the two threads I'm talking about, but Steph would have my balls in a sling if I linked to the other site. So you'll just have to excersize some dilligence. Just like all these posters should've done before taking at face value a statement made in passing by a woman who was probably exhausted and worn out having to deal with all the Fakes, flakes, tweakers and losers assembled en masse. From what I know about pornstars, and that's admittedly not a whole helluva lot, they all think about quitting from time to time. Especially during conventions. Might even grumble about it to a friendly soul.
