Focus on the sex---not the sex, drugs, & rock&roll expectation of a porn star. I am hoping there will be more of a sister-hood, a union as such… it’s time we wise-up.

But I would keep in mind that many porn devotees are just fine with, and in many cases prefer, porn that doesn't cater to the extremes. Though in a culture in which pornography is so ghettoized and constantly maligned, I wonder within this context if it can fully attain any broader sense of its aesthetically and intellectually challenging possibilities and expanding its portrayal of sexuality beyond so many repetitive roles and scenarios. I mean, there are very good directors and performers which do try new things and also make very good work of the "tried and true" scenarios... but on the whole, there is a lack of experimentation. But again, I'm thinking at least in the U.S. that has a lot to do with the limitations of the way people in general perceive and respond to pornographic work here. Would a great surrealist erotic xxx film, with truly hardcore sex, get the attention it would deserve in critical academic and cinematic circles in this society? I doubt it. But yeah, I think it goes both ways... and in some sense, similar things could be said about the music industry and most definitely the mainstream film industry as far as that goes.
This is one of the main reasons why I favour European cinema versus American. Musically speaking you have to go underground to find the politically challenging material. The more anti-bush the less it will be heard. Most great material fits into a niche market and 2o years down the line will be considered progressive. Such examples: Joy Division, Holland (current musician; check him out) Black Sabbath.
