Also heard they want to purge themselves of a few current exclusives and clean up shop. I think with the recent signings of contract girls to Club Jenna and Vivid, they have stolen some of Wicked's thunder. Could this be a PR move or are sales lagging? I can't see them getting rid of Stormy or Jessica Drake because of the sales their flicks generate. So who does that leave on the outside looking in? I really like Wicked for a lot of reasons, and one of them is their line up of contract girls--who seem to me to be intelligent, down to earth, approchable, and wonderfully un-plasticized. I hate how gonzo companies and the gonzo fanbase make these stars for the all natural beauties that they are. Only for feature companies to come along sign them up, butcher and airbrush them almost beyond recognition, tell them not to post on the web and not to do inter-racial etc etc. As for the girls, i totally don't blame them, it's their life and they should look after themselves. Obviously, the guys who hate the feature companies shouldn't watch them... and if you think that there won't be another Keri Sable (or six) knockin' down the gonzo door in another month, you're sadly mistaken. Is it really such a hugantious loss to see a popular gonzo girl sucked into a world of a little less demanding work, and a little more steady income? Even if the all-sex, double anal gangbangs might pay her more in the long run, not every girl has the same goals in the industry, I'd imagine. I certainly can't argue with the fact that I'd love to see the feature companies take a few more risks, and actually try to direct some better sex scenes. I can't argue that some of the American feature companies manage to ruin the appeal of some of their girls (for me mind you), but ehh... that's ok. I don't think Wicked is one of those companies, and even if they were, they certainly have an audience that far outreaches the somewhat narrow ADT community, just as Red Light and Evil Angel has their own audiences. I'm talking too much. I know. I just wish that people could concentrate on more positive (or at the very least, constructive) things to say, rather than constantly complaining all the time about this or that. Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way. In which case, I certainy apologize. Anyway, I'm not targetting anyone in particular. Lee wants to bring in European feature productions, which I think becomes a different discussion. Euro Girls are nearly always flat-out fashion model gorgeous, but usually give brain dead performances. American girls may be more girl next door types, but are more fun to watch (for me). The problem with features usually is they make the girls look fake and the sex is boring to watch. But that's JUST ME. The best solution are US productions and Rocco/Christoph productions that take the gorgeous Euro girls (Lilianne Tiger, elen saint, Angel Dark, etc,) and unleash the passion. Features DO foreground the females in a way that gonzo doesn't (thanks to the dreaded "man blanket" effect), so a really beautiful actress probably has her ego catered to a bit more blatantly ... Her body, as is, creates an immediate hormonal reaction in most men. Anybody that would mess with that is insane. As far as the sex scenes she's been doing vs. feature, I think Keri's been expanding her personal experience up to now. She seems to be doing what she really wants to at the moment. I don't have any doubts that she can garner a contract, and probably will. Let's enjoy her while we have her. As a side note, the gonzo world has a larger cross section of attractiveness. There are stunning beauties and some plain looking women. Some of the most sex positive performers with the largest appetites are not glamorous looking. Feature's loss and gonzo's gain. If we want to count the Euros, there are some awfully gorgeous women doing gonzo in Europe. I don't know anything about feature contract girls there, but if they're better looking than Angel Dark, Simony and Jane Darling to name just three, then I'd be afraid of going blind just looking at them. What the contract pays is irrelevant - it's just advertising as part of a stripping "career". Shooting gonzo full-tilt might get more pay at first compared to dancing as a relative unknown (although she ought to be able to play off the Paris Hilton look pretty effectively) but it puts a lot of mile on the chassis very quickly and not all of the girls can physically take being pounded by the meatpuppets day in and day out (see Amee Donovan and others). She should shoot just enough gonzo to get a contract, and to get name/face recognition on the dance circuit, and then back away from the porn shoot wear & tear in favor of feature dancing. [Link] |
