^ I'm not disagreeing with you on any count but only want to add that I recall seeing Holly Randall interview Sasha Grey and Sasha recounted how her first agent told her to think of herself as an athlete. She was told to focus on her career and not to blow her money on partying, drugs, and booze. Clearly, Sasha took that advice because she had a very successful career and performed like a professional athlete throughout it.
