| BadKarma Member 110 Posts 11/00 | Hate to be a bearer of ill tidings, but Kickback appears not to be working. I tried both Firefox 2.0.0.14 and Safari 3.1.1 on a Macintosh running OS X 10.4.11, and got the same result. The symtoms: 1. Doing a search on a title, e.g.,"Lex the Impaler 3" brings up the list of retailers with prices with links for coupons and the Kickback link for AdultDVDEmpire (ADVDE), as expected. 2. If one simply clicks the Kickback link (Buy thru K$$) for ADVDE, logs in with Kickback ID/password, and proceeds, one winds up at DVDEmpire with an empty cart. e.g., the title is not transferred. 2a. If you page back, login in to AdultDVDTalk again, and then proceed, the title transfers. 3. If one places the title in the comparison cart first, does the price comparison, and then clicks 'Buy thru K$$', the cart transfers ok, but there is no message from ADVDE 'cart successfully transferred'. All this leads me to believe the Kickback is not being seen by ADVDE. I had a problem with a Kickback purchase at ADVDE a few weeks ago but thought it was something I did wrong, since I had multiple browsers and browser windows open at the time. Hope this helps narrow the problem. (Sorry to be so long winded.) [Link] |

| BadKarma Member 110 Posts 11/00 | In the past, when the 'Buy thru K$$' link was clicked on the 'Compare Total Order Cost' page, the user and comparison cart was sent to AdultDVDEmpire. At that point a message was displayed: "Cart Successfully Transferred", or something to that effect, and the titles in the AdultDVDTalk comparison cart were transferred to the AdultDVDEmpire cart. I always assumed that ADVDE was displaying that message to acknowledge the receipt of the contents of the AdultDVDTalk comparison cart. Also, unless memory fails, when clicking 'Buy thru K$$' one was taken to the AdultDVDEmpire site, not the main (non-porn) DVDEmpire site, as happens now. Also, unless memory fails again, the ADVDE site used to be 'www.adultdvdempire.com'. I noticed tonight that the site is 'www.adult.dvdempire.com'. I don't remember a dot being between 'adult' and 'dvdempire' in the past. Hope this helps. |

We will send out an email to all Kickback users that did a Kickback cart or item transfer during the problem period with instructions on how we will be processing your Kickback credits. I hope to do this within the next week to ten days. |

| BadKarma Member 110 Posts 11/00 | But, (Yes there is always a but ...), I still need to log in to the KickBack system twice, no matter how I place the order at AdultDVDEmpire. If I place the order through the title search page, without placing the title in the comparison cart, I wind up at Adult.DVDEmpire.com with an empty cart. Simply paging back, logging into KickBack a second time does transfer the title. Placing the title in the comparison cart makes no difference. An empty cart is transferred and I still need to page back, login to the KickBack system a second time. The second time is the charm and the contents of the comparison cart is transferred this time. Although there is no success message on the data transfer from KickBack to ADVDE. I never had to do the page back and forth in the past. Still, the good news is that it works, it just takes a little back and forth. LATE UPDATE: It appears to me that all the problems are on AdultDVDEmpire's end. To whit: 1. I can hardly manage my 'Wishlist' on ADVDE. Every time I try to move a title from my Wishlist on ADVDE to the ADVDE cart I get a server error. Paging back and trying moving it again does succeed. 2. The current ADVDE coupon does not work, even for an order for new DVDs well over $40.00. No amount of 'fiddling around' succeeded in making the coupon work. I wish XRent was back in the KickBack program ... Edited by - badkarma on 5/15/2008 3:19:01 AM |

Coupon code: 1407253 $40.00 min. order exp. 6/2/2008 • Free US Shipping USPS Standard Mail - adult products only. As for the wishlist, I got a server error message trying to move items to the cart. every time. It consistently took two attempts to move items from wishlist to cart. I never had that problem before. It appears to me, as a technical person myself (network admin) , that AdultDVDEmpire is making changes to its infrastructure and using its customers as beta testers. That's just my impression, and AdultDVDEmpire is free to do what ever it wants with its own website. I, however, have little patience with websites that don't work properly or are tied to any particular OS/browser combination. By the way, what OS/browser are you using? Windows/Internet Explorer per chance? A final note: I have no problems on XRent, or IAFD, etc., which leads me to believe the problems we are having (had?) stem from something on AdultDVDEmpire and not AdultDVDTalk or any endusers. My sympathy is with Drew, who has to deal with a problem not of his own making and over which he has no control. I know I hate it when I have to "fix" other people's cockups. | BadKarma Member 110 Posts 11/00 | It just did a quick test and I no longer have a "double login" problem. Nothing changed on my end: same Macintosh, OS X, Firefox, etc. I tried it twice, clearing everything out of Firefox: cookies, cache, history, etc. each time, and everything appears to be working properly. In both instances, the title I searched for and clicked "Buy thru K$$" on was successfully transferred to Adult.DVDEmpire and placed in their cart. No problems whatsoever. It looks like the problem(s) are solved (or at least in hiding). -- regards. |
